Random question:

When she performs older songs on her upcoming tour, does the owners of her original catalog get paid royalties for each performance? If there’s “Taylor’s Versions” of those songs, do they both get performance royalties? I’m not totally sure how that all works.

Someone on Reddit brought up an interesting thought that maybe she’ll want to release TVs of each of the songs on her setlist so fans will stream those versions. For the fans who didn’t get tickets and want to make a playlist of the setlist, that wouldn’t be a bad idea if she released an Eras/“greatest hits” kind of compilation or something.

 

Performing live, nothing goes to the original version owners, they just own the specific recordings that exist not the intellectual property of the song itself
