Merit aside, getting a songwriting award that was last given to Toby Kieth doesn't speak volumes for the award itself.

 

She’s won more than twice the amount of annual awards as him from that organization which appears to be how they selected the decade winners. Other annual winners include Jack White, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, and Brad Paisley. Not exactly terrible company for a Nashville based award.
