after sitting with this all weekend, i think i would cut LWYMMD, king of my heart, and nice things. so it goes would be so much better if LWYMMD wasn't in the way, i think. it's just so weird to go from delicate to ANGRY SHADE SONG back to lowkey sex/romance imo. but to be fair, i've always had issues with the way taylor orders her albums. i had a weird re-ordered version of red in my itunes for the longest time.
sorry for the double post, and not to sound like a total stan, but i swear to god only taylor swift could literally break records and sell a million albums in 2 hours and still be treated like a failure.
I thought that Ringer piece was pretty bad. They've been hating on Taylor for like three months straight, though, so not surprising.
Damn. I enjoyed that p4k review a lot. I'd give it about one point higher, leaving it around a 7.5, but the score rarely matters so much as the words beneath them anyways. The bit about "New Years Day" is exactly how I feel. It's definitely a top five Taylor track for me.
To be honest I don't think she intended for any of the songs released before to be huge hits. Look What You Made Me Do was released to make the biggest splash possible. The other singles I think were just to keep promoting. They'll start making the really big pushes now. I'm putting my money on End Game (that song is going to be huge; it wasn't one of my favorites and now I can't get it out of my head) and I Did Something Bad to be the two biggest songs from this album.
really want to see taylor. really don't want to spend the money for the good seats i'm going to want.
There should be someone I can hire to deal with the stress of buying tickets for me without having to pay 2x the face value on stubhub. Because this sounds like a horrible process.
I know you've all been dying to hear what I have to say, so now that I've spent the weekend with the album, my favorites are: I Did Something Bad (best song on here), This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Getaway Car, Don't Blame Me, New Year's Day, and Look What You Made Me Do, but I think it's all at least good. Dress is a little too much for me coming from Taylor Swift. Overall I'm really enjoying this.
I'm starting to enjoy most of this on listen 4 or 5. End Game still rubs me wrong at parts, mainly just the 'big reputation' part, and it seems longer than it needs to be. Future is cool. Ed Sheeran is fine. I don't understand why people hate him. He seems harmless.
