Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to do a personal ranking of all 15 tracks yet? When I try to do one, my opinion keeps changing. All I know is that Top 6 (in no particular order) would be ... Ready For It?, End Game, I Did Something Bad, Don't Blame Me, Dancing With Our Hands Tied & Call It What You Want.
Anyone ever find out if she really did write with Chris Carraba? It was interesting to see her playing Call it What You Want last night with that open D tuning that was so familiar with Dashboard's early albums. I mean yeah a lot of bands play in that tuning, but it got me thinking about DC.
Taylor should always play with a guitar because she does very awkward things with her hands when she doesn't.
I chuckled at both those but I'll be honest, I'm that extra about my favorite bands too. I literally wore my Fall Out Boy flag as a cape around my neck to their show on Friday night. And honestly, I hope everyone is that extra about their favorite band.
Haha, I was about to comment "the Dashboard influence is REAL." I think they did at some point. I posted this earlier in this thread, but Adam from Counting Crows said this in an interview in 2015: "My friend Chris Carrabba, from Dashboard Confessional, he moved to Nashville and I guess he’s done some writing with Taylor Swift. He wanted me to come down and sit with him and her and do some writing. I’m not really big on planning ahead on stuff, but I would do anything with Chris. I love the guy, he’s great. I love his music.“ Based on that statement I'm guessing they must've written some stuff. Wonder if it'll ever see the light of day.
I think Lorde is still the queen of awkward dancing, the best was when Sam Smith awkwardly tried to dance along with them so he wouldn't look left out
So much LOL in that video, I don't even know where I would start haha. Fuckin Frankie Grande though.... get outta here
I don't know if they remixed the Ready for It performance before uploading to the Youtube channel or if just sounded better than it did on my TV. But the vocals seemed clearer and the vocal track wasn't as apparent to me when I watched it again on my laptop today.
Yeah it sounded more apparent when I was watching it on tv last night. This time it sounded more like the 4 backing singers than just the backing track.
the video on youtube sounds so much better and some parts i actually think shes singing. they def mixed it differently then the live performance
she is very obviously singing on the youtube video, i didn't watch anything on tv so I can't comment thee
If anyone is wondering how absolutely crazy it is how well this album is selling, this breaks it down Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Sold 700,000 on First Day in U.S.
Watched it live and it seemed obvious to me that she was actually singing but also had a backing track
Finally got the chance to listen and I generally like this quite a bit. Would definitely cut some songs, but there's a strong 11-song album in here.
This album has been quite the grower for me. I don't think it ever comes together with any cohesion, but neither has any other Swift album than 1989. Almost every song has some hook, verse, or performance that keeps me engaged and I've had ot on repeat for a few days. Time will only tell how I feel about it. When 1989 came out, I thought it was her best on virtue of consistency, but now I much prefer The three before it. As of right now, this is just a goofy (all the villain stuff seems so...non-threatening and silly, like a kid pointing a water pistol at you), somewhat clumsy album that I enjoy a lot.
