I agree with three of the four songs rewarded being the worst on here, but still being pretty decent especially in full context. But ready for it is still my favorite. Can’t explain how hype that song gets me.
Part of this is that stupid strategy of ordering through UPS you get 1 copy, and two digital which are all included in her jump the line tickets along with the target deal. All of her iTunes things are on that aswell. I think half of it has to do with younger fans wanting to jump the line and the other has to do with people wanting to see if the record is better than people expected. No discredit to her. Just a lot of calculated variables
I just burst into dance when the don’t blame me chorus beat dropped while working in our warehouse. My fears for this album are totally gone.
Probably a little over stuffed. But I think the record is pretty good overall. I especially love “Delicate” and the last 7 songs or so.
I can't even figure out how to listen. I pre-ordered yesterday finally and thought I'd get the code right away :(
feel like people bring different critical expectations depending on how they received her earlier work itt
there's a k-pop-esque maximalism to "i did something bad" that makes me think g-dragon should be added to the single release or something
the weird moments where there are two great songs in a row ("don't blame me" -> "delicate") make the sudden appearance of bad songs that much more deflating :\
'Don't Blame Me' is a Hozier song. 'Getaway Car' is a Bleachers song, the part when Taylor sings "I knew it from the first old-fashioned we were cursed, We never had a shotgun shot in the dark" around the 30 second mark is so Jack Antonoff it hurts (in the best way).
After the first listen through, definitely enjoyed this one. Out of the new ones that were just released, Getaway Car, End Game, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, and New Year's Day are some of my favorites.
