Liking it certainly doesn't mean bad taste. Just really not for me. I'm sure I can see where many people would enjoy it. To me a lot of the songs come across as her wanting people to view her as an adult, and it mostly comes off as immature. We get it, sex, alcohol, drama, sex, alcohol, drama. There are a few songs I could see playing again. I actually really enjoyed 1989. This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be however.
End Game is the only song that I'd say is bad so far (8 songs in). It's far too long and whilst Future is good, he doesn't fit on it. I'm not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan... it drags. I wasn't big on 'Gorgeous' but it makes much more sense in the context of the album rather than 'Look What You Made Me Do' like some people seem to suggest. Otherwise, Delicate and Don't Blame Me are the standouts so far.
i'm trying to give it as much time as possible bc it took me a few listens to really get down with 1989 but i'm immediately exhausted every time i hear "ready for it"
I like End Game minus Sheeran (just not a fan). And even tho the witches line is cringe as FUCK, I Did a Bad Thing is super fun. I could def see me at the bar a few drinks in yelling along lmao.
If TayTay pushed "Ready For It" over "Delicate" for the college football check, that might be the worst tactical decision of the year.
I was just thinking how playing LWYMMD during CFB hype commercials might be the worst song ever for that type of promo.
You like this style of pop a lot more than I do, and I like her pop-country roots a lot more than you do, so it's probably not surprising we have opposite viewpoints on this. I'd just really like to hear some of these songs with Red or Speak Now style arrangements and production.
i was listening to "i did multiple crimes" and was wondering "hm what does taylor's delivery of 'it just felt so good' remind me of" it's "misery business"
He's referring to The Used Guy haha. Hilarious though because that album came out after the cut off (but obviously was never going to even be nominated)
