Surprised she isn't host and musical guest

 

I thought she would be too

 

It's stranger that Chance is hosting an episode where he is NOT the musical guest

 

Any time I doubt Swizzy, I remember this exists.

 

So basically the one line she really wanted in there and wrote around: "I've got a boyfriend, he's older than us."

 

It's so funny to listen to her "making of" stuff. The Blank Space voice memo has that same gibberish filler for the melody. There was a lyric in this that I liked better and wish had made the cut - "I go through phases when it comes to love, I'm nothing that you want."

 

These green curtains with a gold pattern are awful.

Tbh I prefer Gorgeous a lot more stripped down like that. I think I noticed the melody more. I've been singing it around since I watched the video, whereas when I heard the original song the beat didn't stick with me as much

 

She rly should've kept it. It changed the song a lot for me. Funny how just one line can do that. She also had a line "my reputation proceeds both of us," which I don't remember in the final song but I enjoyed that line too. Those lines gave the song a kind of melancholy wistful vibe I liked

 

oh god that video is so endearing. the song-writing process can be so gut wrenching and make someone feel so vulnerable, to document it this bluntly takes some serious courage.

 

I enjoy when pop artists posts the making of songs because some people act like it's so easy to phone in a successful hit pop song and these show the work and time that can actually go into it.

 

only a giant idiot would believe that. I'd argue writing a pop song is *especially* hard.

 

That's what a rational human would think, and yet lol....

yeah writing catchy hooks/memorable lyrics/etc is hella hard , I don't know how Max Martin has done it so many times he's a fucking wizard

 

he has a giant and extremely talented (and young!) team working for him (see: shellback for example). also they are reported to listen to a shit-ton of music, which is a prerequisite.

I've never been a big fan of merch that has a giant face or their name repeated all over it. And I'm categorically opposed to camo. And the snake stuff kinda reminds me of Hot Topic. But I appreciate the effort. And I did lol that she made a version of that shirt that everyone teased her for wearing backwards that one time.

 

I just realized this one might be a collar and not a choker like I originally thought

 

def a collar and a callback to this look everyone made fun of her for. I swear there was another look she once wore backwards and ppl teased her for too. edit: it was that ugly harness she wore backwards too lmao, and there was another time also. Sis is more rebellious than I thought!!

 

That is some awful merch.
