Dianna Agron is the other long running theory/rumor. There’s also some stuff about her old fiddle player but she’s like, a regular mom now so I’ll leave her alone, haha.

It’s cuz women are tired of playing nice with dudes who are always “just asking” and making us expend emotional labor to explain for the billionth time why subtle misogyny is harmful and shitty. You get one for free. From there on you have quite literally the whole world at your fingertips. Instead of googling “ice queen urban dictionary” you could have googled “why is ice queen sexist.” That’s how I learned and you can, too! Further explanations and further required labor to teach you will require deposits to my square cash account, good day.

You should in fact probably spot Anna $5 because she works really hard and has these conversations 30 times a day.

Rihanna's the only pop star I've hoped is queer and that's because there isn't a man alive who deserves her

Honestly we should all spot Anna $5, she deserves it, I could not handle the emotional labor of making the posts she makes

No lie Rihanna was uhhh...very influential in helping me understand I’m gay, but I would be very very surprised if she’s queer herself (and it breaks my heart)

  7. If that happens often ... maybe it’s time for a massive coming to jesus moment to sit down with yourself and think through why that may be. The common denominator in this situation ... is what you’re saying. Doubling down on it when people point things out to you is not listening, it’s defending and actively arguing that you don’t need to re-think anything.

So why argue it? What’s the point of arguing something you’re ignorant of? “Shit, I didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know.” Takes 4 seconds to type.

Once again, when you’re constantly having the same kinds of discussions over and over ... doesn’t that tell you something? That maybe there’s something antiquated with the words you’re using or the rational? Women deal with this shit all day, every day, and it’s not their job to have a discussion with you and continually argue with and teach you shit. Take some ownership. Someone brings up gendered stereotypes, google the phrase. If you Google the phrase "gender stereotypes ice queen” you’d be presented with a plethora of information:

The 10 Worst Stereotypes About Powerful Women
    No. 1: Ice Queen

Halley Bock, CEO of leadership and development training company Fierce, notes that the ruthless “ice queen” stereotype is rampant. Cultural depictions, like frigid magazine editor Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada (and her real-world counterpart Anna Wintour of Vogue) and back-stabbing boss Patty Hewes on Damages, paint successful women as unsympathetic power-mongers. It is, of course, a Catch-22. “A woman who shows emotion in the workplace is often cast as too fragile or unstable to lead,” Bock said. “A woman who shows no emotion and keeps it hyper-professional is icy and unfeminine. For many women, it can be a no-win situation.”

    And:

21 Female Stereotypes in Movies That We Are so Over: Over it
The ice queen has a cold heart, a frosty demeanor and is oftentimes career-focused because, let's face it, career women can't be focused and feel love, right? That's a favorite epithet for scorned men to sling when the ice queen turns them down.

    And:

Upending The Stereotype Of The Careerist Ice Queen

That’s a really simple google search to help see where the criticism of certain gendered terms comes from, why it rubs people the wrong way, and why it’s kind of a messed up way to criticize a person you don’t know.

It's awful. 90% of music-related social media posts, forum posts, reviews, and thinkpieces feel this way to me.

Okay finally listened to the song, lots of stuff I like wanted to check out today. Honestly enjoyed it, thought it was really catchy and I like the chorus melody a ton. Lyrically, there is no cheating and it seems like it’s about a relationship already in shambles and she’s looking to someone else but she’s not going to actually do anything about it. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

The lesbian ones always seem cute and harmless, at least from my casual glance. But like Harry styles and Louis Tomlinson.... Actually terrifying and like ruined actual lives

  21. While I agree with this, I don't necessarily think it's wrong to do. Like, this post probably wouldn't have been made here and now if most reactions to this song had been immediately positive. Or maybe it would've, idk. But people can usually make a snap judgement on whether they like something or not, though it can be argued that all art deserves a fair shake. The problem is all of the bullshit, extreme reaction dogpiling and, in this case, the personal attacks on TS

  24. My final take: "Gorgeous" came on shuffle last night on my way home from set and it made me dance. I'm happy with it for what it is, and I'm honestly optimistic about the album as a whole. Only a couple more weeks will tell.

(Also: thanks for the love, folks.)
