It's probably my single least favorite song of hers, 80% because I can't stand the dude at all, 20% because I don't really like the song in general, but I am sure I'd like it a bit more without him.
I’m not the biggest Swift fan but there’s always several songs per album that stand out to me as great songs, and she usually has pretty great singles. Neither single from this has impressed me, I was infatuated with the production for Ready For It on my initial listens but I still don’t think it’s right FOR HER, stylistically I just don’t think her writing style and that type of production mesh well.
I've been a Snow Patrol fan for a long time, so I don't mind him at all. I think his voice is way too high in the mix, but I like the atmosphere of the song overall.
No offense, but "sexy and shady" is the worst version of Taylor I can imagine if that's what the two songs so far are supposed to be.
Maybe I should BOLD the part about these thoughts coming from her biggest fans, who are only going to say positive things, and will undoubtedly sound ridiculous ha
Right, and like I think Speak Now is a very inconsistent album so that's what came to mind for me first, but this is a stan so obv that isn't what they mean. And like u said it's already pop?? Tho some of her fans like to pretend like she only did pop with 1989 and took suuuuch a big risk doing it so maybe they're one of those lol.
Plus, Speak Now has always felt to me like the album of hers that had the least clear identity. It's a grab bag. So maybe this album is similarly disjointed?
Yeah, I'll take disjointed with some highlights on the level of "Mine" or "Last Kiss" or "Long Live" over an album full of songs like the first two singles.
Man, Ready For It is a jam and a half and I’m sorry some of y’all aren’t enjoying it. That song is already one of my favorites of hers. It just makes me smile.
I feel like she thinks she's doing something edgy and cool and is attempting something in her vocal talk delivery thing and it's just not doing what she thinks it is. She doesn't have the ability to pull it off effectively and sounds corny af
do you think she actively goes for that though? i think of moments like the rapping part of "shake it off" and the "taylor cant come to the phone shes dead" line, she seems pretty good at creating a parody of herself and people eat it up.
I think sometimes like in your examples she knows. But I think in ready for it and most of her "edgy" scenes in look what you made me do she thinks she's doing this And she's doing, well this....
Which for the record is cool like we dont all have that personality to pull that off, different strengths, etc, it just kinda gives me second hand embarrassment watching the attempt But she is the one making millions off it so she still wins
I still find it hilarious that she did the song for 50 Shades because um she's probably the least sexy pop star, this isn't necessarily a band thing it's just like really
to be fair, "sexy" is definitely a term up for interpretation and there are plenty of people who would consider her "sexier" than many other pop stars
I don't like it as much as the two new songs, but I do enjoy it as a standalone and think it worked nicely as a bridge track between the two albums
I think I probably liked it more than the new songs but it was very forgettable. I can't remember anything about it.
