take a quick look at the comments, it's nearly 100% anti-taylor

  5. You seem to forget that it's on trend to hate everything Swift does. :eh:

  6. Can I ask why you think this? RS is one of the biggest music outlets in the world. If anyone would get an advance, they would.

Taylor is quite literally in a "everything is wrong" situation. I've seen negative comments about her "hiding away" from the media when previously she has been chastised for being TOO much in the public eye. Neverending and dumb.

even if it is, at worst, a PR gesture who cares it's still sweet

The Rolling Stone thing says the album "is described by a source as 'lyrically sharper and more emotionally complex than 1989.'" So someone who has heard it told them that, it's not their take. I'd take it as a sign that these two songs don't necessarily indicate what the record is going to be like.

  10. Didn't read it (for whatever reason, my work computer hates the RS website) but that makes sense. And honestly, I can't imagine she'd put out an entire album that sounds like the lead singles anyway.

The RS website kind of sucks, especially for list-based articles. It gets confused about whether it should be displaying things as different slides/pages or as one complete page. It's kind of maddening.

But yeah, these songs are the "Shake It Off" and "Welcome to New York" of this album, I'm sure of it. Even not loving either of them, I'm not too worried about the album as a whole.

Anti stans are always gonna anti Stan. Idk it is what it is. The negativity sucks but I don't think it's this Taylor swift phenomenon - it's just always gonna happen when two celebs are gunning for the top spot and both sides have their Stans and anti Stans. Ppl gonna hate on her for sending flowers but they're still gonna listen to reputation on release day and pad her numbers so she'll stay winning.

I guess it's cause I read pop culture forums all day where both extremes exist so much and u see it happen to every female popstar, espesh popstars on top. Taylor, Beyonce, Adele, etc benefit from never really flopping before. I think that's when things get really vicious and cruel - when ppl see it's open season to tear someone down. I guess u get the added pressure of never flopping so u have those ppl wanting to see u fail. I'm not saying that makes it okay whatsoever that ppl are so extra and hateful, but I think also at some point there is that "welp I can't please everyone" mentality that comes into it. Idek what I'm saying anymore or what my point is oh well

I guess my point is that stans have too much time on their hands and need to step away for a while lol

Stans are bizarre like it must be so weird to be really into only one artist and trash any others that are successful

Like Lorde can tease a song on Twitter and there would be replies saying something like "Lana Del Rey is shaking right now". How the fuck is that productive?

The best (worst?) Is when I comment with another popstars avatar/icon like a Britney icon or something and they're like "well Britney did this or that 11 years ago and she can't even make her own decisions and is a literal adult baby who can't think for herself. Ha!!" And I'm like okay.... Still don't like that Gaga song tho lol

    People are so weird.
