Stopped at Taco Bell on the way home from work and LWYMMD came on their radio. Perfect in the midst of all this excitement.

And she even covered "The Middle" with Jim from Jimmy Eat World at a TS show on the 1989 tour or something. She's around our ages so I'm sure she's at least familiar with most of the early 2000s stuff we are. FOB, JEW, Blink, Paramore, etc.

Kinda related: There's an old unreleased TS demo she did where she basically completely copies the same vocal melody as "I Wanna Be With You" by Mandy Moore, and I'm sure it was written while that song was probably all over the radio in the early 2000s. Needless to say, it seems she's in touch with pockets of all kinds of different scenes, and that's maybe why she's so universally loved.

 

"better than revenge" is a fake paramore song, she's always loved them afaik

 

She also wrote the lyrics to a more obscure Jimmy Eat World song on her arm during the Speak Now tour. I think it was “Mixtape”

 

who could forget Chris Carrabba showing up at her friend's birthday party that Hayley Williams also attended

 

dashboard influence on taylor's songwriting is profound and very audible

and in a weird recursive way i think "belle of the boulevard" sounds like a taylor swift song

 

Weren't there rumors pre-Reputation that Chris wrote some songs for her?

I remember reading that somewhere (probably here)

 

She was a teenager on Myspace during the 00's, it figures she's connected to the scene. Been hints for years. Just makes sense.

Also re: "Better Than Revenge": it's literally the other perspective of "Misery Business".
