Also, for the record, I love Shake it off. Loved it since day one. It's also probably the only Taylor Swift song I've intentionally put on more than once.

Rumor Mill - WHAT "LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO" HAS DONE ALREADY In the overnight—between midnight on the East Coast and when the iTunes store turns over on the West Coast—“Look What You Made Me Do” was downloaded nearly 100k times. That represents more than a 20% increase vs. the overnight for “Shake It Off,” Swift’s first blockbuster single from her previous album, 1989. “Shake It Off” went on to be downloaded 544k times in its first week. Indeed, “Look” will the first song in 15 weeks to knock “Despacito” out of the best-selling-track spot. At radio, at only 12 hours in, the song is #36 on the Mediabase real-time Top 40 chart. Its premiere on iHeart today will offer 20m total audience spins on 140 Pop and AC stations.
I'm guessing Adele is the only artist that could compete with those numbers, @Jason Tate? Especially since Beyonce has kinda moved on from traditional singles.
Watching the lyric video on mute at work to boost my position lol. There's no way I'm going to be able to compete with the teenagers with nothing better to do during the day than spam social media and buy all the merch though, let's be real.
This entire thing is so transparently manipulative for boosting streams/sales/etc. and so brilliant at the same time.
holy shit hahahahah totally agree. It's totally going to work, but boy is it savage haha. I do really think that this will lower the amount of bots that get tickets, which is a really good thing
Between this and Taylor releasing her catalog to Spotify the day Katy Perry's album came out, I am convinced her team might be the biggest evil geniuses the music industry has ever seen. It is kind of fun to watch. Although I will probably bow out of this ticket race because I am buying the Target edition of the album and they make it very clear on their site that is the main source of ticket "priority". Edit: Apparently you can still get credit by pre-ordering at other retailers, included Target. Dammit Taylor, I'm back at it again.
I adore Kendrick but I still don't think the remix with him worked the way they seemed to think it did
I think I only listened to the remix once or twice. I liked it more than the original version, but that song in general is so unappealing to me on virtually every level that there was only so much Kendrick (or anyone) could do. The melody is annoying and the lyrics are bad.
pretty interesting interview with Richard Fairbrass from Right Said Fred Right Said Fred singer on surprise Taylor Swift 'Look What You Made Me Do' co-writer credit: 'I didn't hear the track until this morning!'
