i heard a rumor that Adele is moving up her release date so that she can compete at the 2020 Grammy's and Tay can compete in 2021 to avoid conflicts/split votes between them. :)
I dunno if @kaylasananjou is just joking, but Adele for real is supposedly looking at a holiday 2019 release for a new album
That's really sporting of her, if that's true... meanwhile, I just hope that girl (Taylor) gets past the place where she feels like a Grammy is the only way to measure how good her own work is. Her conflicted feelings about Red because it didn't win KILL ME because that album is a masterpiece but ANYWAY.
haha no, I'm serious! the word is that the labels don't want them to go head to head because they'll likely cancel each other out. celeb gossip is my worst guilty pleasure. esp in regards to Tay.
I’d argue the fact that it didn’t win album of the year was pretty solid proof she was on the right track.
I agree. It was honest, it was raw, it was sincere... 1989 was pop gold and I love Reputation, but Red was truly something special.
I truly don't think Taylor will ever flop like anti stans want. People are frothing cause they can never wait for a pop girl to have their Blackout, Bionic, damita jo, witness, etc Era where they fall from grace and everyone can drag and mock but I truly think if anything Taylor would be a gradual decline and never like an actual disaster Era like people want. Like sis isn't inviting fans to her house and pretending to be bffs for nothing. She knows she's creating lifers. I truly think in addition to her talent in music, her talent in reading the room and knowing when to back off or redirect her image is part of what makes her so successful, for better or worse. She seems a lot more hyper aware of her perception to the public and predicting consequences of that than most. Hence her dramatic meltdown when Kim thru her off track and did something she didn't predict. Anyway yeah anyone who calls Taylor a flop is wishful thinking lol
yeah I can't foresee Taylor ever not being a thing, like I think she'll be like Cher or Dolly Parton where they are always known
Yeah I mean I can def see her at the least being a songwriter for others and winning awards for that and being celebrated at rock n roll hall of fame and getting hits that way and still swimming in her pools of money. I think if she falls off the face of the earth it'll be her choice tbh
After seeing the reputation tour in person there’s pretty much no way I’ll never believe she’s not special
Yeah but there's also sexism cause as soon as women hit 30 suddenly people act like they should be singing about like the senior citizen menu at Denny's and AARP so I wonder how her writing will be perceived as she ages.
I don’t know about public perception, but as long as her songwriting doesn’t fall off she’ll always have critical acclaim and a large dedicated fan base, regardless of whether the masses ever move on.
Yeah pretty much. And lbr even if her songwriting does fall off I think she'll still have the dedicated fan base who dgaf what she does as long as it's her doing it.
Went to the Tampa date of the tour and that was by far the most fun I’ve ever had at a big stadium show. Probably the highlight of my year as well since I forked over the $$$ for Camila Cabello VIP (I LOVE her too).
I can’t imagine Taylor ever getting smaller than moderate sized arenas (like 15,000). And as she ages I’m sure she’ll tour less which will drive demand up when she does come. She’s a star for life.
I just got home from OTR II and want to echo what I said the other week: GO GO GO What a spectacle that was. Wow.
Tim McGraw is a top five fave Taylor song for me and I chose Atlanta over Nashville and now I am overwhelmed with regret and need to eat my feelings
