Tbh it's why I don't see a lot of pop acts. I paid $200 for Radiohead tickets but that was resell. Original tickets were not that expensive and I only did it cause they hadn't played PDX in like twenty years
If I could see Beyoncé for $70 after fees there should really be no ticket more expensive than that haha
I saw Bey for $100 but it was a club show so that was special haha it was this show where she played 4 in its entirety to promote it
I am getting STRESSED. I cannot afford those VIP prices (I've never cared for special merch anyway), but if the closest seats end up being a couple hundred, I wont be able to not buy them. I refuse to sit a mile away in a stadium.
I'd argue she charges more precisely because she wants to control the prices. Higher prices reduce the number of people trying to get tickets and the number of people who will buy extra tickets to sell on the secondary market. Once the tickets hit the secondary market, she has no control over prices. Some of these tickets will still get scalped, but I’d wager is significantly less than if she was selling a bunch of $50 tickets.
I am going to spend more money than I should on these, but they are the first thing listed on my Xmas wish list this year.... so maybe I will get someone to help me out, ha
I mean, anyone who feels like they are being screwed over should probably just not buy tickets, but yes, that is the general idea. If she didn't charge these prices, someone else would.
1989 definitely had her best week-to-week hold. 402k second week, 312k third week. Red was 344k second week, 196k third week. Speak Now was 320k second week, 212k third week.
The Taylor Swift Tix site says "Ticket prices will vary from $50 to $350+. More specific details for each city to be announced soon; follow @taylorswift13 and @taylornation13, and @Ticketmaster on Twitter for the latest updates." soooo?
I normally Stan for flops and the upside is cheap ticket prices but lately they all seem so expensive meh.

Hope this is true -- I'd pay $50 + fees. However, cheapest seats for the 1989 tour were $97 (including fees) at Lincoln Financial and $84 (including fees) for Metlife, so I'm not holding my breath.
Yeah that makes sense to me, I never thought about it that way. Still wish she'd do a club tour haha!
Oh hell yeah. I'd pay premium price for that, especially if she was going to do like a three-hour set charting the whole catalog.
Ticket prices at every date of a tour are different. If you think Taylor herself is analyzing each of these markets and working with each promoter to price the tickets herself, you're out of your mind. Livenation/ticketmaster probably has more to do with this than anyone (or whoever sells the tickets at your date).
It is kind of funny to imagine her on the phone with some guy at a box office in Kentucky figuring out the maximum price she can charge.
I work in ticketing, so I know it's the promoter/ticketing agent that works out the prices, but it still hurts my bank account . We have an arena show going on sale soon with top of the arena being $100+ and lower level (non VIP) $400+ because the artist's target audience has money. I actually gasped when I saw it.
i like to imagine she's really just trying to rip off her rich republican/white nationalist fan base to buy these stupid tickets before telling them to fuck off. will never happen but would be hilarious.
