now that it's seemingly unpaused looks like there are 23.1k people ahead of me if i'm understanding the source code trick correctly...lol...fuck this.
if everyone ahead of me buys the max allotted that is twice the capacity of the entire stadium...how the fuck did they let this happen
You would think that’s how it works but it doesn’t. The waitlisted people just have to deal and wait for the general onsale. If there’s even anything left to even buy come Friday
Genuine question, because it’s clear she has outgrown football stadiums (insane)…where does she go from here? There’s nowhere bigger to play. Does she just keep doing longer and longer stays at each stadium? Does she only do festivals with bigger capacity?
The only reason the demand is so high is cuz this is her first full tour in 5 years and she’s put out 2 re-records and 4 new albums. I’m including lover since she never got to fully tour on it. If she didn’t put out this much music I don’t think the demand would be as crazy as it is.
She should follow the Garth Brooks model from the late 90s/early 00s. Spread her touring out throughout the year, announce a couple cities at a time, make sure the venues have 4-6 nights availability and just keep adding shows as each one sells out. Garth used to pick a city, put one show on sale, immediately after it sold out, show 2 would pop up and so on. She could stage it like mini residencies in cities and create a whole weeks' worth of hype. But why go through that hassle, when you can just use dynamic pricing to make the same on 3 stadium shows like she's currently doing?
I don't think she really gives a shit though. Someone will tell her "Ticketmaster crashed" and she'll say "oh wow that's crazy" and go back to making cryptic numerology posts. All of these big artists are so disconnected from what normal people go through. She gets her money, fans are disappointed but will still blindly worship her. Same deal with blink, though I'd say their fan base is more likely to check out because of #punkethos and age. I also think she has such a carefully manicured image that having the last show be undersold would be perceived as humiliating. So go with fewer shows and guarantee you sell them all out.
I think she's at a point where 4-6 nights in major markets is probably the absolute bare minimum, and even then, I don't think people's experiences would be all that different. The third dates she added on the Reputation tour in most markets sold out, but with the caveat that they drastically reduced secondary market prices across the board. They're probably trying to avoid that happening (which is bullshit, but alas) by keeping demand high. To her (minimal) credit, though, she could've chosen dynamic pricing and didn't. People would be paying $300+ for an upper bowl seat behind the stage and it would still sell out.
