I like that you ask people to explain their picks in any favorite songs/albums thread and we usually just get bulleted lists anyway.
sure, defend yourself if you want. maybe I missed it, but no one called you a bad person for being excited about things.
I would also add that you more than most people call out specific things that you enjoy on first listen ("I love that synth sound" etc) that adds a lot to the discourse!
yeah that’s true and I have gone into a ton of depth as to why the new 1975 album hit me so hard the way it did and why I do truly consider it to be one of the best albums I’ve ever heard already, it’s due to my very personal circumstances and what I’ve been going through this year and many years prior, the same stuff that has always made me connect to them so much just jacked up to 11 now
Yeah you’re right haha I should give myself more credit I guess because I do understand that lack of depth in the convo whether it’s good or bad. but also sometimes I’m out and about on mobile and don’t have time to say anything more than “I love it so much” haha but I can see the other side of it
I say things like “omg this is so good” on a regular basis because it feels good to still be able to fall in love with new music and I embrace it because why not. When I don’t like something is generally when I’ll either say nothing at all or try to articulate the why of it.
(Pop) music is relatively short and digestible compared to so many other forms of art...it's made to be consumed multiple times. I find sometimes I don't truly "come down" on a decision or a feeling on an album until like 15-20 listens.
Lol, “Side A,” all of Red, an album long enough to be a legit double album even without the bonus tracks.
Would be cool to have vinyls of all those albums with those exact covers, up on a wall laid out just like that
