on Twitter you can find a 15 second clip of lavender haze and sweet nothing on what looks like a telegram app video. With the titles of the two songs in the thumb nail. The clip of Anti-Hero is fake and is a song by another artist who sounds like Taylor. snow on the beach can be found in its entirety on debree. It’s the 12mb one. Not all the 9.77s
Snow on the beach is really good and took away my worries about the Folklore/Evermore vibes being gone, hell even if there’s only a couple more like that and the rest is pop I’ll still be happy
Avoiding these because it’s so close to release already but given how one song’s getting compared to Rep and another to evermore, could someone who’s listened tell me whether or not they sonically still feel like they came from the same album or if they’re just totally different?
Hard to say for sure tbh since Snow On The Beach is the only full song that’s leaked and the others are just short clips. But it definitely seems like it’ll be a pretty diverse album.
Yeah, Lavender Haze sounds more poppy esp in the instrumental but no indication of it what direction it’ll go, Sweet Nothing sounded like it could maybe fall somewhere in the middle
From the tiny little snippets I’ve heard plus the entirety of SOTB this record sounds like it will be very diverse sonically. Like a mashup of Rep, Lover, and Folklore
I might get roasted for this, because I don’t know them super well. But a legit anti hero snippet leaked and it sounds like Jack doing ABBA??
Sounds great to me, also lol @ people already saying some of these sound like bleachers songs, it’s the 1975 all over again
Agreed. This is the first album I've not heard any pre-release singles from in a long time, and I really want to experience this one in full. I can wait. The new 1975 album and the Blink-182 single are in constant rotation at the moment.
Oh damn, I ordered from her web store hoping it would get here Friday and I’m going out of town on Saturday. Kinda thinking it won’t get here before then smh
There's a pier here in Oslo that kinda overlooks the entire fjord area next to the city, so I think I'm going to load up the album on Spotify and go to the end of the pier in the late afternoon and just chill and listen to this on my headphones several times
As an American who has never been to Norway, and probably over romanticizes what the Nordic countries are like, I cannot imagine a cooler experience than what you just described.
Also in the boat of waiting until Friday, but a mix of Lover, Reputation, and Evermore/Folklore sounds amazing.
I moved here back in December, and it's been an interesting experience to say the least, haha. Because of how compact the city is (and most cities in the Scandi countries really), and how good public transport is, getting around, and daily life in general, seems much less stressful. And Oslo specifically integrates nature really well into the city (the major forest outside the city is only a 20 minute train ride away), so the city life to nature balance is pretty easy to maintain. Some drawbacks, but plenty of cool opportunities here
