After seeing the Blink-182 ticket prices, I can only imagine that Taylor’s tickets (assuming it’s a full tour and not just some festivals/one-offs) will be just as (if not more) insane.
one of my friends paid $200 for rep tour floor seats (per ticket). feeling nosebleeds are gonna be exponentially more.
Wonder if the first songs from this will leak Thursday, coming from the release happening in New Zealand, just like what happened last week with the 1975 album
for big releases like this, they'll releases simultaneously to prevent leaks, so i think the only chance it leaks is if someone uploads a CD rip
Oh interesting; yeah this is probably how it'll be released (although I haven't seen any mention of a specific time yet)
I always think it’s weird when people post pics of a display case at Target or something that has all the CDs on it, but the album doesn’t come out for a few more days. Like, why is the store putting them on the floor if no one is actually able to buy it yet? And what’s keeping people from stealing it? And if they have someone guarding it, then why not just keep the display in the back until the morning of its release? So weird.
I bought Rep tour tickets like 2 weeks before the first of three nights at Gillette Stadium. I spent a total of 100 bucks for 2 seats. I don't think I'll be that lucky again.
it's pretty odd. i remember seeing Jack White's Boarding House Reach out 3 days early at Target once and tried to buy it, only for the system to flag me. doesn't make sense to stock it unless maybe they want to fill empty shelf space? (although on a related note, back when Sam's Club still sold music, i saw Bangerz by Miley Cyrus out like a week before release, and while the CD selection was small, it was completely stocked otherwise, so i guess shelf space isn't always the issue?)
RE: prices we'll never see again. I paid $300 for VIP pit for the 1989 tour in 2015. At the time, my friend and I were like "welp, this is kind of a once in a lifetime thing, guess we'll cough it up." We were like 5 feet from her most of the show, AND that price included got about $150 worth of various merch to go with it.
They stock CDs early because retail sucks and you’re always short staffed and having higher ups yelling at you so they get stuff done early/when they can so it’s ready for Friday.
