There were like 45 songs played, everyone I know that went had an amazing time and said it was the most amazing/incredible concert experience of their lives. I don't think one or two songs registers on most people's concert going experience.
Also, as someone who got into Taylor Swift in late ‘07 into ‘08, listening to a bunch of her & Avril Lavigne via YouTube that summer and buying the Fearless CD at 2am at Walmart the day it came out (because I was driving by after a late-night Steak’n’Shake run). If I lived in that market and weren’t in the wrong income bracket to attend this tour and heard that song? I’d probably love being transported back 15 yrs to that deep cut I’d mostly forgotten, lol.
(Though, I also don’t personally understand the part of her fandom that’s closely watching what songs get played what nights, lol. Love that for y’all though!)
They're almost all one-of-a-kind renditions, and I like keeping track and then finding and listening to the takes on the songs I love most that didn't make the proper setlist. The "Dear John" live performance, for instance, is way better than the Taylor's Version take.
I'd love to get a debut track! If Seattle had gotten cold as you which I know has already been played so they wouldn't, I'd die because I wasn't there and would be so close yet so far to her underrated GOAT track
I'm not as scared of the TS (TV) as I once was. I felt like she did SN enough justice that I think it will be ok. Not getting Max Martin in for 1989 is more alarming for me. Although her improved vocals will help with a lot of those tracks.
IMO, she was already a great singer by the time1989 came out. I don't think the vocal gains are going to be that significant on those songs.
She serviced those songs at that time but I feel like there's depth and control that she didn't quite have during those sessions.
1989 and Rep are the ones where the vault is really the appeal to me. S/t is the one that's the most exciting from a re-record perspective by a long shot IMO. (Though in a weird way I find Speak Now really exciting as a re-record but not really Fearless, which feels kind of contradictory to the idea that the earlier stuff has more to gain.)
NICE!!! Which show? I had the worst time w Scotland despite coming off the waitlist and am still waiting for Dublin. I’m headed to Germany in December, so I didn’t consider going again next summer, but it’s getting to the point that I’ll go wherever I can score tix for.
Hamburg! Almost exactly one year from today. I’m actually going with some Chorus friends from the soccer thread back in the AP days.
I got mid-tier tickets for Liverpool before seeing I was also selected for Dublin, where for just a little bit more floor seats were available. Still can’t believe such an expensive ticket for a show a year away is non-transferable, would’ve gone for Dublin in a heartbeat otherwise.
