Ice spice is… not good

 

I don't know how this wasn't the version with Lana all along (and I'm not the biggest Lana fan at all). Meanwhile, Karma already one of my least favorite songs on the album, got... worse. Wonder what the Vault track will sound like once we finally hear it.

Time for Hits Different to get the main sequencing treatment it deserved.

Yeah, I think both of these new versions are significantly worse than the original versions.

 

In regards to the new Midnights vinyl variant. I’m of 2 minds about it. Is Taylor Swift so in control of her brand that she knows exactly what’s happening with all of the variants (and repurposing bad pressings) or is the machine and team of Taylor Swift the brand so big that it’s possible that she has only basic knowledge of these kinds of plans?

Genuine question, I imagine she very clearly has input about the amount of variants, im less convinced she knows about repurposing rejected variants from Canada, but who am I.

yeah this Ice Spice feature is awful

 

i never heard of who that is prior to this announcement.

 

i'd seen their name on festival announcements and i just joked that it was a long lost spice girl, but i've never listened to them at all until this song

 

She is great

 

I don't think either of these remixes are bad, both are a bit better than I expected, but the original is far better in both case

This is her best song. Fight me!

 

I haven't done the research to verify this, but did see it mentioned many times, so take it with a grain of salt, but the consensus is that UMG has a stranglehold on all of their artists' merch outputs, including physical releases of music. They release a lot of stuff, charge a lot for it, and the artist isn't really involved much at all.

Her uptick in frivolous releases and general merchandise also coincides with her joining them.

 

Taylor Swift's Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) is definitely gonna rule.

One of my least popular music takes is that Lana Del Rey is not good.

 

Everyone can have their own opinion, but it certainly doesn’t mean they are right. Lana is one of the greats.
