Some of my favorite moments/details on this album: - one of the last times she says "it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me, everybody agrees" almost deadpan, like she herself is exhausted with the whole thing - the clapping on Question - the way she says "shimmer" - the pitch shifted vocals being used perfectly on three songs, in three different ways - the way Sweet Nothing builds a crescendo towards the end of the song where you might expect something big, but instead it builds to silence. Feels so cool.
Kind of surprised no one on TikTok has done an impression of Jennifer Coolidge saying “it’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me”
adding to this list - how the bridge of Anti-Hero (un)intentionally pays homage to Knives Out - that sweeping, droning synth in Maroon that sounds like the intro of 400 Lux by Lorde - the vocal harmonies in the final build of You're On Your Own, Kid - the sudden shift from airy and spacious to pulsing and heavy in the second chorus of Labyrinth - the bridge into the final chorus of Hits Different feels like a melodic/lyrical triumph to me - just the whole sonic vibe of Glitch
I would add the "nice" bits in Bejeweled to these lists too--which seems like a slightly lame copout considering the insightful examples y'all gave hah
Great additions. I don't listen past the main album all that often, but I'm sure I could add more moments from them as well
And there’s a dollar bill in the background which is obviously a nod to the LWYMMD video. So rep is coming!
I was able to get my friend tickets who wasn't able to get any through the thing they did this week. She has better seats than me now lol but I'm going to more than one show, so I'm really happy for her
I really hope she gives us Rep TV before the others. Rep will be my forever era so I really am looking forward to the vault songs!
Having recently ranked her entire discography based on personal preference... three of those are in my top 10 and three of those others don't even rank in my top 100.
