Thats funny I just saw a bunch of ppl speculating after the all too well bts footage that she's trying to foray into directing and get her oscar

 

She’s campaigning hard for Best Live Action Short at the Oscars. She’s even doing the Directors on Directors series for Variety with Martin McDonough, who also happens to have won the same award almost twenty years ago.

All of which seems… excessive. It was a fine music video, and that’s about it? I mean good for her if she really wants that Oscar, use the resources at your disposal. But the whole enterprise is a bit absurd to me.

 

Feel like the Best Original Song route would be a much easier path to an Oscar.

 

(Then again, I guess she's now done a fair number of original songs for movies, and no luck so far.)

She’s likely gonna get nominated this year for the “Crawdads” song. But I think “Turning Red” or “Wakanda Forever” will win it

 

Tbh I kinda get it. She seems like a goal-oriented person and once you've crushed like every goal in your field it makes sense to branch out. But the idea of campaigning in general is just kinda awkward to me. Like if I deserve the award then just give it to me lol why should I have to hint around and schmooze for it

 

I completely agree, but to add on, I've worked on a few awards campaigns and they are SO expensive on top of it, so much money spent on marketing and PR to get noticed enough to get nominated in the first place

I got that email as well. It doesn't sound like we get to choose our seats for this? I'm the most picky person when it comes to choosing seats, so this is going to be hard for me lol
