Interestingly enough, as much as I really dig this album, my recent Taylor listening has gone to evermore more than anything. It’s really the perfect November, autumn-meets-Christmas album. Which, I’ve also said that about Red, but… I think I like evermore more than Red now? Which makes it my new second favorite Taylor album.
I do quite like Midnights, but I'd agree it's not really a standout for her and it definitely has skips for me. Speaks to the strength of her catalog, frankly. folklore and evermore are both just always going to be special for a lot of reasons. The highs on those two records are just... next level. And not many lows for me personally.
It's one of the most desirable little nooks in the West Village so aside from the luxurious property, it's an awesome location. -Former Village dweller
1. Bigger Than The Whole Sky 2. You're On Your Own, Kid 3. (TIE) Labyrinth / The Great War / Sweet Nothing Honorable Mentions though to: Maroon, Anti-Hero & Would've, Could've, Should've. I think this is an awesome album. I'm starting to think I like it more than most people, or at least most people on here. In general I think I like the slower stuff on here better than the more radio-friendly bangers, but that could be just what I was expecting based on the name of the album and her descriptions of what the album was gonna be. My biggest critique would be that some of the absolute best and strongest songs are from the extra 7 stuffed onto the 3 A.M. Edition, which doesn't seem like the best idea to me, but also this is Taylor Swift and having an embarrassment of riches when it comes to great songs is kinda what she does. Random fun fact: my wife strongly dislikes Taylor Swift and constantly gives me shit about liking her so much and has consistently for years now. Well, she heard Anti-Hero on the radio at work and loved it and ended up listening to the whole album of her own accord, which is such a funny thing to me. But she said it's a good album.
Taylor has been my top listened to artist for a few years in a row. I really didn't think I listened to her that much this year but apparently I did because she was #1 again
Taylor was my most listened to artist clocking in at 1,555 minutes, with Midnights as the most played album (210 times). That can't be right though...
My most listened song was Wilson Phillips but that’s just because I supervised detention one day and the punishment was listening to “Hold On” on repeat for the full two hours. Otherwise, they could do whatever they wanted.
