Someone on Reddit said Taylor Swift is just a business/corporation and we are just dollar signs and honestly, they’re not that wrong lol

The specter of the imagined "casual fan" is the most infuriating phrase that seems to have caught fire among Swifties, I'm sorry. Such a bullshit concept.

There’s nothing casual about any fan who willingly sat in that queue for over an hour.

Is..this a bad thing? Far prefer this perspective than a weirdo fan who thinks they have a deep emotional connection with a stranger (and that that stranger somehow owes them something)

It also needs to be said that all these remixes are bad.

Woah, slow down with this logical reasoning.

I mean sure people take it too far and act like Taylor is their bestie, but I don't think it's weird or wrong to want to believe artists actually care about their fans on some level? And Taylor herself has, if not created, then at least enabled that dynamic with her fans. Remember when she used to invite people to her house lol

Regarding the discussion about closed loop resale within the TM platform, that wouldn't work either because large resellers would just use throwaway accounts and literally transfer ownership of the entire Ticketmaster account to the person buying the tickets. You'd receive the email address and password to log in and use. This is already happening with shows that don't allow transfers. It would not discourage the use of bots.

And that really is the biggest problem when it comes to people's complaints regarding the resale market. There are small congregations of large, big-money resellers with the capital to spend upwards of $3000 per month per bot to attack sales like this. The average mom and pop reseller can't do that. These are big companies spending a lot of money, and many are tied in with the venues and promoters themselves.

Right? No one fucking asked for 5 remixes of the same damn song.

STOP IT TAYLOR AND SAY SOMETHING.

I just generally find most remixes in pop music to be inessential, but I also just feel like they nailed that song the first time. I don't need a slightly different version of it.

Ya know, I only have access to the album via Spotify. I didn't have extra funds the week it came out and I still haven't bought a physical CD.

I kinda don't think I will for a while (if at all). That's how fucking pissed I am and I didn't even attempt to sit on ticketmaster for 5+ hours.

Curious what Swifties think constitutes a "real fan" or a "die-hard fan." How many death threats do you have to send to Pitchfork writers to qualify?

The gatekeeping the last few days has been insane. People saying you should have to take a quiz to get a pre-sale code. If your intent is to buy tickets and attend the show, you didn't deserve a code any less than the person who has idolized Swift for fifteen years. That's just not how this works.

At this point, the only band on earth I will drop money on for the rest of my life, is The 1975.

    that is all.

I like the idea of giving boosts for people who had Loverfest tickets, and I'm fine with her also giving boosts to people who bought the album, since not too long ago the fad in live music was to bundle concert tickets with the new a new album. But the idea of a quiz to buy tickets is hilarious.

John Mayer did the bundle thing on his tour in 2017. I went to two dates that tour and got sent the physical album twice.

Agreed, I don't quite get how people personalize musical acts. Its probably why no one bats an eye at luxury items being a certain price but concert tickets are always supposed to be accessible to everyone at low costs.

I think I remember the clues being pointed all suggesting February, but how often were the SwiftTok detectives right about any of the clues anyway?
