Taylor has gotten a lot better live and this is coming from someone who has always been a fan since debut but used to clown her live performances. She can still be awkward but not nearly as bad when she'd full out mime all the words with her hands during Speak Now era. She had this awkward vibe like she watched iconic pop performers and was copying their playbook but sometimes her body language didn't match the vibe of the song and it all felt very rehearsed (I mean I know it is lol. But it didn't seem effortless). I think she's gotten a lot more comfortable in her own skin and style of performing. Her vocals are stronger and she has good presence. She isn't a great dancer but has grown into a fun dancer. When she first started dancing she danced badly and would get herself out of breath so the vocals would suffer a bit. I think she has a better middle ground with it now. She can sometimes still be awkward with her hand gestures and it makes me cringe but I wouldn't say it's bad. And if you compare her vocals to her performances from the debut album it's night and day. I think starting out always playing guitar and piano live, she still doesn't know what to do with her hands sometimes lol
Do they know what demand would be without scalper bots and people signing up on like 6 different accounts with all their friends in the same group doing the same just to try and get a chance at tickets? I mean I know demand is still huge it just makes me curious what demand would be in like a normal world where people didn't have to do that.
At a time where tons of legit people did not get tickets, a bunch of scalpers did get tickets, and people paid way too much for tickets, Taylor and her team can fuck off with another cash grab remix. Like, read the room lol.
Maybe, just maybe, all the people without codes wouldn't have stayed in the queue as long if you had to put in the code first. Wild concept.
would be great if everything in the merch store was dropped down like 10-20 bucks. Like who the fuck is paying for a $30 coffee mug?
At least this is like a popular dj and not just absolutely random lol but still I agree she is not reading the room at all this week
Idk she might not care now, but even the biggest swifties I know are pretty upset with her right now. How long that will last is tbd but I think she's damaging her brand by not even saying anything about this
She's known to comment and watch a lot of videos on her hashtags on TikTok... she's well aware of what's going on in the fandom. She's also smart enough to know she needs to say something. I'm sure every business advisor in her life is telling her otherwise, though. There's not much she can do *now* and for *this situation*... but going forward, that's where she can truly do something. That being said, I haven't actually felt happy about getting the tickets since the moment of pure elated relief. Everything feels tainted. It won't feel that way once I'm in the stadium, but right now... it's pretty gross.
I didnt have a code and when I tried joining the queue (wanted to see the prices) I got a message saying my account didnt have a verified presale code and it kicked me out. So I don't think that was an issue.
You just named three of the best, if not THE three best, female singers in pop. Taylor is right up there, though, and she's come such a long way since her early days when people said she "couldn't sing" as a regular criticism. She has a lot of vocal control and has developed a belting style (see the end of this video, which I'd argue is absolutely phenomenal vocal work) that has a ton of control, consistency, and breath support/healthy technique. Comparatively, Adele is probably more naturally gifted, but I actually think has worse singing technique, hence her inability to stay in good voice across a tour. (I majored in vocal performance, so I think about this stuff a lot.)
I think we learned this week that there is nothing a swiftie won't pay I agree though it's not even nice merch
She should have said something two days ago when shit was hitting the fan instead of the tone deaf comment about being nominated for a Grammy and vaguely hinting at the fiasco (“So many reasons to lose my damn mind today”) which honestly can be interpreted as she’s celebrating this as a record breaking moment and not a massive issue (hence why she hasn’t made any comments about the situation). Like, great job, you got nominated for yet another Grammy (ultimately meaningless award, but I digress), meanwhile the people who allow you to have the career you have are either struggling to be able to get tickets to further support your career or having to pay ridiculous amounts of money to scalpers who are not even real fans.
I kind of like the All Too Well snow globe, but honestly nothing else catches my eye or screams 'BUY ME' The last merch I bought was when she came out with Lover merch. I bought the Tie dye hoodie she collaborated on with Stella. Hoodie was like 90 bucks but i asked my dad and he was like "its Taylor and A Beatles kid...fucking buy it" It faded a little, so this summer I finally did my own tie dye on it and it looks even better than before.
Ya this is what everyone I'm talking to is saying. I thought it was just me. I got the tickets I wanted I should be happy but it still feels off. Even listening to Midnights is a little tainted right now. But like you said I know that'll go away by show time, just a weird vibe all around
I’m not diminishing anyones fan-ness here, but I do think generally it’s whack that a lot of actual genuine die hard fans were shut out meanwhile some casual fans were able to get tickets. Again, not directed at anyone specific, but it really sucks seeing many true fans being shut out or even priced out of being able to attend.
She didn’t say anything about being the biggest private jet user in the world. The tour sold out, she isn’t going to say anything.
I think encouraging gate keeping is really bad, at some point everyone was 12 and so excited to go to their first concert Verified fan is a dumb name I agree
