There will be a very small number of ticekts available in the general sale and it'll be tough to get them. Capital One is today, we'll see how much they held back for that.
If real, really shows how shitty the verified fan program is. I said this earlier - they'd do better to actually guarantee tickets to a smaller number of "verified fans" and make others wait. It'll help them load balance and ensure that if you were picked, you actually get tickets. All verified fan does is a series of random number generators. It sucks.
I think the demand is high enough she should be doing ticket sales by lottery. Wouldn't be the first artist to go that route because the demand is too wacky otherwise. It absolutely sucks if you don't win, but at least you're not spending all this time and energy for tickets that aren't even really there. Access to things like concert tickets will never be "fair" to everyone, just seems to me that's way less messy.
Those poor saps need more cash. Just give it to them! Really begs the question about what the point of even having a presale is. I knew we were in trouble once virtually everyone I encountered on the internet was getting presale codes, though. I probably saw one person saying they were waitlisted for every 20 who said they got codes. I would so much rather have this. Like, I would have been bummed on Monday if I hadn't been "selected," but I also wouldn't have spent hours upon hours yesterday trying to fight through an endless queue only to deal with Ticketmaster's buggy system.
So, the problem with calling it a lottery is it can invite more regulatory oversight as well as require audting to ensure odds are being properly assigned. We know that Ticketmaster isn't going to do that. It's easier for them to make this series of RNGs work and have it appear as a "lottery". People can handle disappointment. Only select the number of submissions that matches with the allotment assigned for Verified Fan.
Yeah, sorry for not specifying, the lottery wouldn't be through Ticketmaster. I'm not 100% sure how it works because it's my spouse's fave, not mine, but Phish does it this way even though the general onsale is through Ticketmaster. So I know it's possible even though I absolutely am not claiming to be an expert on the specifics of how it works. edit: at the end of the day, the best solutions all involve ticketmaster no longer existing... if only
I could see her implementing this solely so she could name it something like that lol. Sis loves a good play on her name
Yeah, if Elon's gonna sink a bunch of money into cartoonishly imploding some ubiquitous company, I'd be down with that company being Ticketmaster. Quick, someone tell him that they, idk, canceled the Babylon Bee or whatever!
I saw her open up for Rascal Flatts like a zillion years ago and then I've only been to one of her tours, which was Reputation and it was amazing. You'll dance your face off!
