I hate the chorus of the Man (if I were the man then I'd be the man), only real problem with this so far besides the spelling is fun line, but that got cut
On first listen this is much better than Reputation But my word 'London Boy' is bad. Like, Rebecca Black bad.
I thought about trying to review this but I've only covered three tracks and it's already two pages long so maybe I need to just calm down
Knowing me, once I get the official version it'll take me a couple of weeks to finish writing so I'll probably turn it into a track-by-track analysis or something instead of a straight up review (so it at least makes more sense and people expect a long-read)
If she’s re-recording the others next November, we’re probably looking at an April to September tour.
Don’t know if I’m feeling a lot of this on first listen, but there are some standouts for sure. Really liked Cruel Summer, Paper Rings, and Afterglow
"Daylight" going right into "State of Grace" in iTunes is a huge kick in the feels. Guess I'm listening to Red again!

"In my conversation with Scott Borchetta the next day after I called to apologize... He’s like “Van, here’s the thing about it: yesterday most of the country had no idea who Taylor Swift was. Today, Oprah Winfrey sent her flowers this morning and asked if she could talk to her.” It felt like, "Wow, If I could have 10 of those a show going forward and didn't know about it I'd sure love that!"" I... continue to be disgusted but not surprised by Borchetta. I understand the logic behind thinking this way and there's no denying both parties have since used this night for publicity, but for that to be your take THAT YOU SAY OUT LOUD the day after your teenage artist was so clearly traumatized? Filth.
Can’t find it now but a few years ago I saw a tweet that went something like “when Kanye interrupted Taylor I thought ‘this is unfortunate’ not ‘this will alter the brains of both musicians in a way we could never anticipate and it will be terrible’”
Favorites after one listen: Lover Paper Hearts False God Daylight It's a nice bounce back from Reputation (which I like), but nowhere near her peak projects. I think Mainstream Pop Taylor has run her course artistically, but she's still an excellent songwriter.
