Ugh, this is one of those songs that I don't particularly love, but it's undeniably catchy. I can definitely appreciate it even if I'm not crazy about it, but either way....it's stuck in my head pretty severely.

 

Been reading a lot of positive and negative reviews, LA Times is... not a fan.

Kind of hilarious how he thought she was going back to country. I don't recall anyone thinking that was going to be the case. She's long gone with that genre.

 

Uhh? How delusional are ***some*** of these Swifties? It's like they don't listen to any other music other than Taylor.

I kinda feel a certain way that Taylor's cats have a better life than I ever will.

 

I guarantee you she will eventually make a return to country. Guarantee it. Not yet, but she's going to have a very long career and it will eventually arc back toward her roots.

 

Definitely. But I have no idea why anyone would think she'd do that now.

 

To live in a world where Brendon Urie is unknown seems weird.

 

Mainstream country is (mostly) garbage right now anyway. She needs to stay away from that mess.

 

I mean I'd say that he's more successful now than Ed Sheeran was when she collabed with him so this really makes no sense lol

It will always be a point of speculation in the lead-up to new albums from her, until she actually does it. In this case, I think people thought she might go that route because of how mixed the reception behind Reputation was.

Lots of mainstream or mainstream-leaning country songs from the past 4-5 years that are better written than this song, imo.

 

That would honestly make a lot of sense!

 

That would fit with a lot of comments I've seen saying it sounds like it belongs in a kids movie soundtrack

 

She usually does a soundtrack between albums! I’m buying it since she didn’t announce the album with the single.

i said this theory at work today and everyone thought i was delusional, but honestly i would be so happy if that were the case.

 

Would also make sense about the 2 songs rumor: maybe another one is coming not far behind and someone got it mixed up and thought they were both being released at the same time.

 

When is the next X on that calendar lol

 

Maybe this will be the era I finally see her live.

 

Part of it is that the lead singles haven’t show been indicative of the albums sound.

But at the same time I feel like it’s very much who she is right now in the public eye.

 

Ohh that's closer than I realized. I really wouldn't be surprised if that is the "official" single and Album announcement.
