No doubt this is the best song so far. It sounds like it's going to be an interlude type of song because it builds and builds and builds but then cuts off right when the next beat should hit. So I'm assuming the song that comes after it on the album will be a banger.
This is easily my favorite of the 3 I feel like this would be a great song to play solo with either a piano or guitar. Could be a powerful moment in her set
Easily the best of the three released thus far. The "cut off my nose..." line is pretty clunky but the rest of the lyrics are good.
Yeah, like this one vastly more than the first two; hopefully the quality of the album only goes up from here
This is my feeling, too! I like the melody and the lyrics a lot, but the sonic arrangement is a weird match for me.
It’s ok. Best of the 3. Still feel like her songwriting has taken a step back. Glad people are digging it though.
This is my least favorite of the three, but this has felt the most Taylor since 1989. Which I’m not sure makes sense when you take into account how much I adore reputation. This song feels like a blooming flower video in slow motion.
"But now, with her new song "The Archer," which was produced by Jack Antonoff, of all people," ...where have they been, exactly? She's been working with him for literal years.
I love* that 13 years in its still cool to make “omg she’s actually good” jabs in articles *loathe entirely
Love this song. Such a curveball, not at all what I was expecting next. Strange first listen because yeah, I expected it to explode--especially when that bass starting going about halfway through--but on second listen I'm obsessed.
Definitely my favorite of the 3. I love it when she works with jack. She is a great songwriter and I think he brings out her best.
I think they're trying to express surprise not that they're working together but that he did something good because the link goes to an article titled 'Jack Antonoff Makes a Lot of Music and None of It Is Good'
Great song! Easily my favorite Taylor song in a minute. Also, I sometimes find myself bored by Antonoff, but to say none of his work is great is just dumb sensationalism...I mean, have you HEARD Want You In My Room?!
This new one and You Need to Calm Down definitely have me more excited for this album than I was for Reputation.
I mean, the "all Jack songs sound the same" argument gets really thin when you simply just look at this year... Red Hearse, Kevin Abstract, this song and the Carly song.... no chance in hell any of that is the same
