You Need To Calm Down wormed its way into my head, the beat is so generic but so catchy

 

I dig both songs, they're bops, as the kids would say

 

I will say I really like how the vocals are produced on both tracks a lot

 

I think my deal with many of her leads singles is that at first I'm like eh these lyrics are dumb this song is dumb ---> wait why is this dumb song in my head maybe it's not actually dumb?? -----> Yas this song is a jam and a half! ----> eh this song is getting overplayed but I still like it ----> eh these lyrics are dumb this song is dumb

 

I always miss the overplayed thing because all I ever listen to is what I put on myself or when my boss puts on NPR at the office otherwise I could see feeling this exact same way

I drive agency cars for work and learned to carry an extra aux cord in my purse, but some of the cars don't have the input thingy and I have a hard time driving long distances in silence. And if I'm driving a kid around they always want The pop station lol. The pop station hasn't actually played her new songs much at all tho. I've only caught the last half of Me once, and haven't heard calm down yet. But we're like a year late to everything so I'm sure in six months it'll start gaining traction haha

 

Taylor would love Amazon, like I get it she probably has to shop online but also she loves capitalism

 

I was thinking of collaborations I'd enjoy and I'd die if she ever collabed with Johnny rzeznik. I think it'd be a flawless album. And while she's at it she can make my 90s/00s dreams come true and work with Rob Thomas of matchbox twenty. Or Alanis morissette. I just want a 90s tinged slightly angsty album one of these days!!

Jeez I do absolutely love Alanis, but it is quite clear there was very little practice to their duet. Is Taylor always that awkward with her stage presence and motions or is it just me?

Omg I saw Justin's screenshot post and the name scooter Braun and thought Justin was posting this and was so confused for a hot second.

Glad someone is calling out scooter tho. He seems so awful and shady af and opportunistic just with the way he handles Justin. I'm legit concerned that he's working with Demi now

Scooter Braun is scum and so is Scott Borchetta. Glad to see Taylor calling this for what it is. Imagine selling out someone who built your fucking empire in such a cowardly way.

 

Not giving her the opportunity to buy her own art with what is obvious revenge motivated selling to follow seems like good ground to file a lawsuit. But I also know nothing about contractual law.

 

I think it would be pretty hard sue over it, since he owns the masters and can sell them to whoever. It’s gross and manipulative as fuck, but not illegal.

God, I’m thinking of this slimeball man telling the woman who built his fortune that she can “earn” her own albums back and my blood is actually boiling.
