Yessss. I always love the Antonoff songs. Do we think she's ditching Martin/Shellback or saving those tracks for the album?
Happy she's working with Jack again, Getaway Car and New Year's Day ended up being my favorites of Reputation. I feel like Jack has gotten a lot better at co-writing since 1989 too, can't wait to see what they cooked up together.
For anyone else deleting posts wondering why I'd be surprised if she ditched them altogether but she also said this album was gonna be more singer-songwriter (which we obv haven't heard so far) so...
I was really hoping after Reputation that she’d delete Max Martin from the speed dial for a few years.
I will not accept any Max Martin slander! But seriously, his songs on Reputation were not good. Hashtag not my Max Martin. Gimme Red/1989 era Max jams! Gimme some NSYNC/BSB era Max Martin jams too while you're at it.
I don’t dislike Max Martin. I just think 1) she is a better songwriter than he is; 2) he inhibits her lyrical strengths and creativity.
Martin is the co-writer on my top five reputation songs so in that regard if I’m not getting Red era stuff I’m here for the Martin songs
uhhhh what?!?!!?! I Did Something Bad, Don't Blame Me, Delicate, Danging With Our Hands Tied?!?! Those are all Max yo!
Delicate is the only good song on that list right there. Top 2 song on that record for me. “Don’t Blame Me” is a bottom tier T Swift song, faceless junk.
One man's bottom tier faceless junk is another's "best example of Swift's vocal growth" great song, I guess.
Imo, “Don’t Blame Me” is good solely because it’s arguably a career-best vocal performance from Taylor. Lyrically, definitely not in or near her top tier.
