i like this more than me! chorus is nice but christ those lyrics are so vapid and the verses are pretty forgettable. ready for it is the jam though if we're comparing these two.
Now that she's done variable pricing once, I'm guessing she'll stick with it, which means the days of affordable Swift shows are long gone.
I've felt the same way about both songs.... Turned it on, immediately said "Eh, no thanks", but somehow still made it to the end of the song and thought, "Wait, no. I actually LIKE this. What just happened?" It's like it's pretty cheesy but somehow manages to win you over by the end.
Genuine question on the subject of tour: Has Taylor ever done a tour that wasn’t in arenas or stadiums? It seems like her whole career has been in an arena or stadium (even if just an opener) and that is wild to me. A lot of musicians start out in small venues or even theaters before moving to arenas/stadiums but it seems like Taylor was ready for those from the start of her touring outside Nashville.
She paid her dues in a ton of small venues and clubs. My parents saw her at a pretty small place. At that point, she hadn’t broken through yet.
I saw her on the self titled cycle. Saw her at a country fest, she co headlined with Carrie Underwood.
I know on her self titled album she played a major college here but idk the venue size. I remember top 40 radio playing teardrops on my guitar and saying what a songwriting star she'd be. Which is why I get a lil confused about the underdog angle she used to do. I'm sure she worked hard espesh at such a young age. Like as a teen I wasn't ambitious enough to do anything aside from sleep and browse geocities fan pages. But I think once she took off she hit the ground running and never rly stopped.
