So help me, if this is you suggesting that one of her absolute best songs is somehow one of her worse...
I don't know how you could listen to We Are Never Getting Back Together and instead of having the time of your life being like wow this really sucks awful song (and I strongly disagree about other songs being on that list too)
I've actually never liked anything about "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" other than the chorus, & I tend to like her shallow pop singles. (For example, I, uh, quite enjoy "Look What You Made Me Do" & always have.) It's not that I think it's bad or whatever, but it all just feels flat & lifeless. Feel like the verses & bridge were written in, like, under 10 seconds. Which, sometimes things feel that way to me but in a good way, but not in this case. It's like a demo w/ crisp production. *shrug* To end on a positive note 'cause unnecessary negativity is lame... that chorus is really dope. Chef's kiss & whatnot.
This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things is her worst song by a mile IMO. #2 has to be Look What You Made Me Do which is effectively the same song with a catchier chorus. I don’t really think End Game is a bottom-tier T Swift song but Ed Sheeran rapping on it is the worst part of that whole album and I laugh every time Future says “you’re so dope / don’t overdose,” so I’d listen to that argument. London Boy is an awful song, bottom 5 for sure.
I would argue that Can't have Nice Things has the better chorus by a wide margin. i think she knew that and put that in the specific spot for her set list. It's just too long. Could have been better as an intro with the second verse and chorus.
"This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" is great, especially now that we know Kanye and Kim were full of shit the whole time.
I hated Me! when it dropped but it grew on me. I like where it landed on the album—I skip You Need To Calm Down every time, though
I don't really want to get in a back and forth but is it necessarily good to applaud making fun of someone with mental health issues even if they act like an asshole?
Can't have nice things is great. And lest anyone @ me, I will also go to bat for stay stay stay and London boy. Feel like those get a bad reputation^TM sometimes
I can't believe I logged in for the first time in months to see some of my Taytay faves slandered on a "top 10 worst songs" list
adding insult to injury, the full article also includes a list of her "top 10 best songs", but the author notes that they're purposely not including the songs that are usually in the conversation. aka her actual, consensus best songs. so it's like.... what was the point of any of this??
