I really tried to get into this new single, but the more I try to listen to it, the more of a chore it feels like. Not my jam.
Late to the party but top 3 on Rep is “I Did Something Bad” (#1 really one of the best songs I’ve ever heard), “This Is Why We Can’t”, and “Don’t Blame Me”. “New Years Day” and “Delicate” would round out my top 5 I think.
I think king of my heart is the only song in reputation I just have to skip. I don't mind the others but that one is just unpleasant to my ears
Don't Blame Me, LWYMMD, I Did Something Bad, Dancing With Our Hands Tied are all pretty bad. My top would be: New Year's Day Dress So It Goes End Game I think I'm just now realizing how much less I like Reputation than 1989. New Year's Day rules tho
i like reputation a little better than 1989, there's no record-scratching "boy do i hate this" moment that quite rivals the appearance of "bad blood" in a track sequence on recent revisit, however, i figured out that "clean" is definitely a masterpiece
I reorder all her albums because her sequencing always sucks and I think it helps some of the weaker songs tbh.
another epiphany, but less recent, more like one i have continually every day for the rest of my life: absolutely ridiculous and wrong that "new romantics" is a bonus track
New Romantics being a bonus track is probably the best example I have of being really confused and shocked that a certain song was a bonus track, like wat I just don't get it The only song I don't really enjoy on Reputation is King of My Heart and even then I don't hate it. Delicate, Getaway Car and either New Year's Day or ...Ready For It? would be my top 3 from that album
So It Goes is the reputation song I dislike the most, and I think Taylor agrees since it's the only song from the entire album she didn't perform on the tour
i was v indifferent to "so it goes" on release but it was one of my favorite songs on the record the last time i listened to it. think it just needed time
“Dress” is easily the best song on reputation by about 1,000 country miles. It’s an all timer even if it’s turned into a deep cut. It’s got the best hook, best production, it’s a Taylor Swift song full stop. It’s just an all around stunner, and a pleasant reminder of what she’s capable of. Followed by Delicate and New Years Day. There’s a few faceless tracks (Don’t Blame Me, I Did Something Bad). Some messy head scratchers (Ready For It?, Endgame). But a lot of mid tier TS songs. Overall it’s a misstep but I don’t hate it? “Dress” and “Delicate” will be on every single Taylor Swift playlist I make forever. So that’s a win. They are both in my personal top 10.
