Holy hell, I can imagine. Probably that one, "Getaway Car," and "New Year's Day" for me. "Dancing with Our Hands Tied" is up there too. The second half of that album is so good.
I Did Something Bad, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, and Ready For It Don’t Blame Me a very close fourth.
I guess to be specific I’d take this song over Don’t Blame Me, Gorgeous, and Dress. I dislike all those songs Top three on Reputation would be Getaway Car, Delicate, and New Years Day
Top three are Don’t Blame Me, Delicate, Getaway Car, but New Years Day and I Did Something Bad are close.
Nice things, New year's, something bad, getaway car, and gorgeous are the only songs on reputation I listen to but I like them a lot. I started off hating gorgeous but I swear thru defending that song from the absolutely ridic criticism it got (I remember ppl being randomly harsh at the lyrics like wow Taylor made fun of his accent and is talking to everyone but him in the room what a terrible person!!) It grew on me + loving her behind the scenes video of them creating the song #JusticeForAcousticGorgeous
I remember that. I love Gorgeous - the lyrics are tongue-in-cheek and silly but that's how crushes feel? Same reason I get irritated every time someone comes after the lyrics in her songs. They reflect the mood (generally) of the subject matter. But that melody just makes me happy.
I’ve said it before on this website but the second verse of “...Nice Things” is why I can’t truly enjoy the song. It ruins the song as a whole for me which is a shame because the hook is killer. But I love Getaway Car and Dress so much.
Right it's a silly song about having a crush and being all swept up and happy. Obviously she wasn't trying to write an All Too Well there but it's a cute lil relatable crush song which has its place. But I also defend stay stay stay constantly lmao it's cute and whimsical!!
The only part of Nice Things I don't like is when she fake laughs and says she can't say it with a straight face. Which like I don't rly care for popstars fake laughing/giggling in songs. Makes life hard as a Britney Spears fan.
every time I think of Gorgeous I think of it being Blake Lively's baby and I think of on Friends when Joey was talking about Anne Geddes and he said it's a very famous baby
I do love a genuine smile in a song tho like when u can tell they are smiling as they sing like stay stay stay or Ours. But there's a fine line between a smile song and a fake laugh. Brb lemme go write my thesis on smiles and laughs in songs
Omg I literally had a conversation the other day of how much I love laughs on pop songs and want to make a mega mix of them!!
i think we're all forgetting that despite end game being an eh song, it has the lyric "i bury hatchets but i keep maps of where i put 'em." which is just. yes. every time i'm like "this is a taylor swift song i don't really like!" i end up coming around, so i'm sure "me!" will end up bottom tier but fine in context of the album. when Rep came out i really didn't like so it goes, king of my heart, OR nice things, but i won't skip any of those now. she has witch powers idk.
