I was gonna use Daylight as the transition track so if it works with that I’ll consider it

 

"I Forgot You Existed" flows into "Me" extremely well. Doesn't make "Me" any better of a song putting it as track #2, but getting it out of the way early on would make it easier for me to sit through haha.

 

I have multiple parts from this album stuck in my head at any given moment

And also death by a thousand cuts

 

I'm halfway through right now

Thoughts so far:
-"The Man" absolutely should've been the lead single IMO
-This is excellent

It’s a good song, but redundant when the better closer happens a few songs earlier with “Afterglow”.

 

Feels like it’s being punished for it’s bad songs more than rewarded for the great ones.

 

This album just gets better and better for me. I could see it surpassing 1989 for me, even if as an album it doesn’t work quite as well.

 

False God rules goddamn song kind of passed by me on the first couple listens

I think the only song I actively dislike is London Boy. I'm starting to like the back half more and more. It's Nice to Have a Friend is awesome.

I’m test-driving my 13 track + 3 track Target bonus tracks resequence. It’s making me like it more

 

I love Miss Americana if only cuz I always yell the OKAY!

 

Also my wife is back on the Taylor Train and I’m b pleased

 

“Afterglow” is not a closer at all! “Daylight” ties the album together perfectly, has that callback to Red, and then has that little spoken word tag. If you’re going to cut one of them, “Afterglow” is the one to cut.

 

I kinda see it as the mission statement of Lover, ties back a lot of the NY references and the love story that moves throughout the album.

No love for It's Nice to Have a Friend? Also once I decided London Boy was a satire (a la Blank Space) I realized it kind of goes.

 

I don't think I dislike any songs? Finished and I liked just about everything, which was fun

I kind of don’t think you have an album without “Daylight.” It’s not my favorite song on the record, but it’s really the only fitting ending point. Closing on “It’s Nice to Have a Friend” feels like an ellipsis.
