Showed the song and video to my wife last night, and her first reaction was, “was that a joke?” The more I listen to these lyrics the more I’m disappointed with it.
...I just watched the music video at 1/4 speed to try and find the album title. I’m going to go have drinks with friends now to pretend I have a life!
oh my god, I had to google this because I hadn't heard of it, but wow. Remember That Time Adam From Owl City Declared His Love For Taylor Swift?
she probably got back to him in private, Taylor isn't really one to do these things out in public. (even if it was just a thanks, but the moment has passed type thing)
Owl City is so bad. I don’t like “Me” really at all, but it’s better than “Good Time,” or any other song that guy ever released.
I’m in the camp of, this is a nice summer pop song that young people will eat up - good for her, mission accomplished. It’s definitely fun. But from a lyrical stand point it’s horrendous - it seems like every single line is just a variation of some sort of cliche.
I’m wondering if she’s just really latched onto the whole “Easter egg” thing and this song/video is basically mostly to tease what all is coming next. That said, I like the song, I’m just ready for her next All Too Well.
Didn’t Taylor spell out Adam’s name in the secret album booklet message for Enchanted? Like. I think both were a little weird here.
If I'm remembering correctly, she said she used a word in the song that the person it was about would recognize and know from their conversation and Adam decided it was him.
