Did anybody say compasses or purple pink skies from invisible strings as far as words we like the way she sings because I would like to add them to the list.
Dark Side of the Moon is an obvious classic album and will be forever, but I'd rather listen to almost anything else 99% of the time. "Us and Them" is an awesome song though, and I'm plenty happy listening to just that song every now and then.
yeah, as much as it sounds like she second-guesses herself from the standpoint of public opinion, she really seems to trust the melodies and lyrics to flow. she's a craftswoman.
I really like all of the very subtle background vocals that are all over this album. I listened to it in headphones for the first time today and just tried listening to all the layers underneath each song. The production on this is sooo good.
I'm a massive Bruce fan but Tunnel of Love isn't better than Automatic for the People or Sgt. Pepper's or Caribou or Rhythm of the Saints.
Cardigan is definitely top tier on this for me.. So in love with the chorus melody. Really get huge Lana vibes from that song.
This is my favorite part of the Dessner interview. My friends and I frequently react this same way to each other when sharing music we’ve been working on, or old ideas just tossed to the side. It’s cool to know that even when you have as much influence and experience as Taylor Swift, that feeing still exists
The guitar picking in August reminds me a little of Tame Impala's Tomorrow's Dust. Which is an album that came out this year, which is still weird to think about.
Trying to add to the 8th album being great discussion, ETID's Low Teens is all I can come up with so far. Norma Jean's All Hail too. EDIT: Deftone's Gore, which might be a controversial pick. There's more artists with great 9th albums than I expected too.
