Honestly I was really just saying that to see how Spyki responded. Sometimes I like being a dick for the sake of it. Other times I'm not even trying.
Listened to this a few times while in the car for a long period of time yesterday. Clicks more and more each time. What an accomplishment.
yeah. i know it shouldn’t. but the culture and behavior of fans is definitely “tarnishing” the music for me, which is a shame, bc it rules
I never let bad portions of fanbases deter me from an artist. Which is good, because some of hers is psychotic.
If I let toxic fans affect the music I listen to, I would have to stop listening to pop music, end of sentence.
dont really understand how people who grew up listening to emo and pop punk could let fanbases impact their enjoyment of music in 2020
man, i listened to the album today and still enjoyed it lol. it will almost certainly be in my end of the year top ten. i hardly said it ruined the album for me. but it is associated with the album now, kind of impossible to say otherwise.
This is kind of random but relevant-ish to bad fandom and I’ve been dying to share with someone : A month or two ago I was watching one of those reddit broadcasts and it was some dude playing really bad covers of really bad 2000s emo music to his pit bull that he said in the title was a bull terrier and people started pointed that it was a pit bull, not a bull terrier, and he got extremely defensive to the point where he was angry-laughing about people trying to tell HIM what HIS dog was, even though he was clearly wrong. It was wild and you could literally see his soul die as inwardly he slowly began to accept that he didn’t even know his own dog (can you ever really though) even though pit bulls rule and his was adorable
i will never understand stans of particular artists. got pulled into a Missy Elliott vs. Nicki Minaj twitterstorm yesterday with Nicki stans in my mentions for hours.
This is how I felt when they were harassing Katie Dey all day on Friday Then I throw the music on and it all drifts away, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't have some impact when I'm not actively engaging w/ the record
This is the first Taylor Swift album I have properly loved since Red. What an amazing album. Exile in particular just works so well. I'd love her and Justin to do a full album of collabs, I love their voices together.
I haven't listened to this album enough but seven, August and invisible string are early faves. But honestly I enjoy all the songs on the record which I don't think I've had for her since Fearless. Even my fave Red has songs I am cold on. But on early review I don't wanna skip any on this Also I maintain my stance that if she collaborated with Johnny rzeznik and Rob Thomas it would be glorious and I need it to happen
Can we please take a moment to appreciate how good it sounds when she sings “clues” like a secret on invisible string?
If we're talking about words we like hearing her sing, I think "Maserati" is still at the top of my list.
The way she sings "scarf" in All Too Well where all the emphasis is on "scar" is probably my favorite
The “miss you’s” on “Betty” are by far my favorite sound on this record. And as I’ve mentioned the last 2 couplets in “Betty” might be my favorite moment in any Taylor Swift song ever. Distills everything I love about her.
