  1. Yeah I tried playing it through my Sonos setup earlier and it wasn’t quite the same. Been wearing headphones basically all day haha. So many dire intricacies and impressive production flourishes

I've always stood by my belief that if she ever made a glam-rock-ish album, it'd be one of the greatest things ever made.

But I'm happy to follow her following her muse from idea to idea.

that, the title track, and all too well basically put that album leagues above the rest of her discog for me

I love that I don't love this immediately. Lots of time to let this grow and let elements shine with multiple listens. Been hoping for an album like this from her.
2020 has been an incredibly year for female artists so far (Hailey Williams, HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers) and I think this could land very solidly among those.

On 3rd listen I’m feeling the length slightly more but like every song is at least very good so that isn’t really a problem. Also, the stretch of Epiphany to the end is probably the best part of the album.

I'm like 8 pages too late on the Exile single discussion but maybe it's not the single because JV didn't want to act in a music video. ;-p

I still have to wash off the pattern trace but I basically spent my whole afternoon stitching this with the album on repeat. IT WAS LOVELY.

Someone please help. What does “sir I think he’s bleeding out” remind me of in epiphany at 1:05? Specifically the sound of that line and the backing music.

happens again at “doc I think she’s crashing out” at 1:55- 2:05

not quite. The one I’m thinking of is more of a build up.

maybe I have song deja vu lol

  18. Also: I wanted to see if this album still hit as hard in the light of day and after a second listen I have decided "Exile" should be illegal. I love it so much.
