Never thought Jonah Matranga was going to lead the vanguard of indie trends. Gonna go play “Yr Letter” a bunch of times.

knowing what goes into a release like this: no way. even with the inherent scramble of the industry, there's too much that goes into an album release like this for it to be randomly pushed up because she heard someone else might be dropping.

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Right, but there are plenty of bands who have everything for a rollout ready and are choosing to sit on it instead of releasing it during COVID.

Anyway - I'm dropping the subject now, I was just curious if I was the only one who had an inkling of an idea it might be a possibility.

Seems like a bad take that some indie publication that only writes about male artists and disowns bands that sign with major labels would have published in about 2008.

For the sake of my sanity has anyone figured out which song Aaron plays Mellotron on? I fuckin’ love Mellotron and I haven’t picked up on it yet and it’s making me twitch.

Yeah, I think Red retroactively got more praise, but it did start the more indie places caring about her.

a music publication covering (potentially) the biggest album of the year in depth is a Very Bad Thing apparently.

i disagree with the "crafted to appeal to indie fans" argument but i understand where their impulse comes from to push back and empathize with the challenge of promoting independant music to a listener base when the oxygen is gone from the room. taylor's going to make close to as much money this week than literally all indie musicians did in the last 3 bandcamp fridays.

sure but the disparity problems in the music industry dont start or end with taylor swift and taking it out specifically on her and this album is ridiculously unfair
