August is so damn good.

 

I'm kind of excited the vinyl comes so much later cus it will remind me to get back into it in the colder seasons

 

I’m actually curious if this helps broaden Justin’s audience though. It would be funny if collaborating with Swift does more for it than the Grammys

 

I’m pretty sure when we say that Exile should be the single, we are saying it’s what we would have chosen. We’re not saying that it’s what should be chosen based on TS’ last collection of singles.

 

I'm going to TRY to only listen to this repeatedly for a week or two, and then shelf it until I get the vinyl to bust out in the fall, which I feel will be the perfect time to listen to this album anyway.

I always wonder this. There are so many records I want to buy and artists I want to support. I can’t imagine dropping like $200 to get a bunch of variants.

I think this album is wonderful, but these reviews were all turned around too quickly and it shows. Most of the ones I’ve read so far read like the first 3-4 paragraphs were written yesterday when the album was announced and the rest were rapidly jotted down during the first listen at midnight. It sucks that music writers aren’t able to take the time to fully digest anything.

according to our bubble that is very inclined to justin’s music, yes. most people don’t give a shit about that haha. someone said “exile would be great in a pub or coffee shop crowd.” i guarantee you taylor swift isn’t making choices based on pubs and coffee shops lol.

 

Yeah, seems like everyone was trying to just be the first ones to jump on reviewing it, but didn't actually sit with it long enough to write anything really thoughtful.

This is definitely one of the weirder mainstream pop albums I've heard in a while. Not necessarily because she is doing anything drastically inventive or different, really, but because of how subdued every single song is. Like, it's telling that we're all arguing over what will be the big single off of this because I don't think there is one. There are bigger hooks and poppier songs on the Phoebe album, lol.

 

Will Stan for Cocteau Twin talk. Remember when Antwon sampled this song. That was wild. Don’t know what happened to him. He also did that song with the dude from deafheaven, what a great track that was. Anyways Cocteau Twins rule. Listen to them.
