I really never envisioned her rush-releasing something. She’s always been the most careful artist in music about album rollouts. So this is a total bolt out of the blue
I agree. She was the last artist I expected to do this. Plus, with the way her fans are, I didn't think she really would have been able to pull off the surprise. I'm ridiculously impressed by that.
Need Sufjan in on this. More collabs with icons. We need an updated The Last Waltz with The National feat Sufjan, Bon Iver, Annie Clark, Moses Sumney, Taylor Swift.....
i think since lover wasn't even a year ago nobody was expecting her to come out with anything for another year or two so she was able to pull off the surprise. the last thing i expected to see when i woke up was new taylor swift album.
yeah, part of me wonders if it’s due to lover being her lowest selling, despite being a bounce back from reputation. just moving past the cycle entirely. have to imagine this will be pretty warmly received critically before anyone even listens to a song, since that seems to be the way it goes these days
Super smart rollout given where she is in her career. 8 variants is a bit much, but do you TayTay. Very shocked she isn’t selling a puzzle, or a candle, or various other quarantine-y type items that fit the vibe.
I used to be a pretty big fan in the "Red" era and before! I'm actually doing a full discography run right now and I'm really surprised how much I'm enjoying Lover and Reputation. Haven't heard them all the way through before.
I was so annoyed by Swifties relentlessly attacking Noah Gundersen that I never listened to Lover until today.. Kind of silly I know but... that shit bugged me lol
I'm incapable of going to bed early (or sleeping in; what's healthy sleep?), so of course I'll stay up to listen to this. I bought Fearless at Walmart at 2am the day it came out, on a whim 'cause I was getting late night Steak 'n' Shake with a friend who I'd listen to some of her stuff with sometimes. So, I stayed up for new Taylor back before it was cool, lol.
