the lyrics are just on another level. you can read this album like a freaking book.

So is it safe to say Aaron wrote the music for most of this and Taylor supplied the melodies/lyrics?

Bc the most I listen to this it really sounds like an AD solo record musically.

 

haven't felt this way about a mainstream pop album since coldplay's ghost stories. what a great turn after lover, and honestly not sure we would've gotten this for a loooooooong time without quarantine. this is the kind of album you make when you don't have fear about commercial success. i literally can't imagine another artist on her level attempting this.

 

i realize that this sounds very, very cliche - but honestly this album is an embarrassment of riches. i cannot think of a better way to describe it. each song hits and it's like holy shit this has got to be the best song on the album and then the next one comes on and you're saying the same thing in your head. this is truly special.

 

So excited to listen to this many many more times. Hoax is such a cool song, most Sufjan of all of them.


this is going to be on my top 10 and I’d be surprised if it doesn’t win Album of the Year at the Grammys Is be shocked

Yes.. He said there was like 30+ tracks ready for Big Red Machine and I'm willing to bet lots of those ideas were used here.

 

2020 is such a mindfuck of a year that we got a surprise Taylor album and it might be her best. What the hell

 

she really went 16/16 on this.

I like this comparison. Both albums are what I’d been wanting from their respective artists for yeeeears

 

This is the kinda album I thought Taylor might make in like a decade, and that’s if we were lucky.

 

Don't know if I would say it's the best or my favorite taylor album but it's obviously good and goddamn what an incredible surprise both in tone and just in general existing
