Sorry if I missed it this morning, but two articles from Billboard Taylor Swift 'Folklore' Collaborator Reveals How They Wrote Songs in Just Hours How Taylor Swift Shot the 'Cardigan' Video During a Pandemic
I think that "New Year's Day" is a better 'first dance' song than any Ed Sheeran song. (although I also think it's just a better song period than any Ed Sheeran song)
I was gonna play the rank her albums game, & then I looked at the Reputation tracklist & realized, 3 years later, I somehow still have never listened to the whole thing before? With how much I love Taylor, & how little I care about popular opinions on albums (& was fine with "Look What You Made Me Do"), I have no idea how this happened. What was I doing with my life that year, that I just sat out a Taylor Swift album? Fixing that now.
This has not dropped in continental Europe yet. I think the whole-ass record is coming at midnight EST specifically. Weird move.
I've never seen it, I guess if you're one of the biggest artists in the world and give 14 hours notice on a new record it makes sense!
Its how "Damn" dropped. I haven't really tuned into many others that were dropped on hours/days notice.
I think it's kind of cool. Everyone (well those awake) gets to experience the album at the same time.
Do I do the responsible thing and go to bed at 9:30 like usual or do I wake up at 6am after listening to Taylor until 1am?
This is my dilemma. But landmark release like this from the biggest artist in the world....and not even a single out, this never happens. I think I’m gonna give it an honest go in my old age. and it’s the T Swift folk album. Let’s go.
After 26, I just haven’t recovered well without my 7-8 hours. At 30, the *thought* of midnight is painful. I’ve become my grandfather.
don’t guilt me into this (I was 70% already planning to stay up, I’m behind on my second job and can just plug away a few extra hours to get caught up)
Luckily, it’ll only be 10pm when it comes out here in Utah. Can’t wait to be jamming this thing in 5 hours!
Got it on vinyl earlier this week and it was really, really great the one time I spun it. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a move so my record player had to be packed away.
I quit smoking a few months ago but I'm really considering making a return tonight to vibe to this. Then again it comes out way past my bedtime, and a bowl might just knock my ass out.
I definitely vouch for this tracklist edit. Think it could be chopped it even further (I've never been a huge fan of the title track or IKYWT for example), but you'd have to shake up the song order to make it work.
