the sound of this album is definitely too homogenous (nothing inherently wrong with that in itself) for the idea of breaking it up into eps to make any kind of benefit for me
Yesterday I saw a group of 4 guys in their 20's at Mcdonalds. They were laughing and talking really loud, mostly about girls. Then as they were leaving, one of them had a medical emergency and ended up on the floor near the cashier's till. When the paramedics arrived, Cardigan by Taylor Swift was playing on the stereo system. That song took on a whole new meaning and stirred up a range of emotions. My eyes were getting watery.
like 8-9 listens into this it finally hit me how much imagery is shared between "cardigan" and "betty", just from opposing POVs. she's so good at that storytelling style of writing
I really love the line “I knew you tried to change the ending, Peter losing Wendy”. Cardigan is quickly becoming my easy favorite.
This album is still incredible lol I can’t remember the last time I’ve listened to something this many times in such a short span. Maybe Pop 2?
Just got my CD! A little surprise came with it that I don’t want to spoil. But it was unexpected and cute.
Jealous of this. I can acquire most tastes -- Tom Waits is my favourite musician -- but just can't with Leonard Cohen.
I mean, I can't get into Zappa. Best I can do is circle back to give it an occasional shot and be as open-hearted as I can when I listen.
This whole album parallels my high school relationships so much that I've contemplated reaching out to my exes Ain't stirring that pot, but her storytelling is fucking great.
this is such an incredible piece of music. everytime over the last few miserable weeks I've been on the verge of panic I listen to this and it calms me right down. album of the fuckin year also, the bridge in "the last great american dynasty" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
