my tears ricochet starting off slow after exile and then slowly picking up is so great, I feel like it really pulls you out of that somber space of exile so well
The Lakes is really solid, but I do think it works best as a bonus track. I wouldn’t swap it in for anything.
If I had to redo my ranking the lakes is number one with a bullet. I agree it doesn’t fit on the album but it’s the album I want even more than this.
gonna go back on everything I said and claim "epiphany" is now my favourite. goddamn what a piece of music
“Hell was the journey, but it brought me heaven” is the line in my head today. So simple and beautiful
I wouldn't swap any song on the album out for 'the lakes' but I also don't really hear how it doesn't fit with the rest of the songs. It sounds to me like it fits perfectly with the rest of these songs and it's a really great song.
It fits but I still think the lyrics feel kind of crammed, like she wrote them before the music and didn’t want to change anything when they didn’t really fit.
They have signed copies at Music Millennium today, too. I am soo tempted to get one, but it's all the way across town and I don't really want CDs anymore. What to dooo
Betty was the #1 requested song on my local country radio station today. Was funny hearing "go straight to hell" instead of the normal "Would you tell me to go fuck myself" version.
Newbury Comics had some signed ones to order for pickup on the 30th, bummed I found out slightly too late
For anyone in the Dallas area, Forever Young Records in Grand Prairie will have signed copies tomorrow.
If you haven't noticed, the latest trend is releasing EP versions of already released songs so it looks like a new release. Taylor is on board now.
It makes sense in theory but I feel like this is better served as a series of playlists, not listed as individual EP's. But shit, make that dollar Taylor, you do you.
....she's not selling it as a separate EP I don't think? It is basically just a playlist of select songs. Don't see the harm in that.
it's just a marketing strategy, as I mentioned it get's a "new release" on your spotify page. Justin Bieber did it, Lil Wayne, Sam Smith, it's becoming a new popular strategy and it makes sense
It's kind of a cool way to highlight some other songs not getting as much attention too for the folks who don't want to sit down for a 17 track album
