the internet people are saying Exile is gonna be sent to alternative radio and Betty is gonna be sent to country radio
Death By A Thousand Cuts should've been sent to Country radio, too. If they're truly doing a radio push, I wouldn't be surprised if she recorded a fuck-less version like it's the early 2000s.
"Cardigan" still isn't near my favorite on the album, but that's a nice little version of the song. Damn her for putting out new merch every day though! haha like do I need this version on vinyl now? Probably!?! UPDATE: I bought it because I'm a sucker. Paying shipping costs on 3 or 4 different transactions is the work of a brilliant business mastermind, haha.
It's gonna be interesting to see how/if she plays these new songs live. I wonder if they'll be performed with the full band, or if she'll just play them on piano alone.
I always thought they should have done a "Nashville remix" of "Death by a Thousand Cuts" or something. Probably could have been a big hit.
Lover, Death, and Soon all could’ve charted on country radio, I’m pretty sure. But I also understand why she wouldn’t want to push back into that market while making an anti-Trump statement in Miss Americana.
Nope. In some ways reputation wouldn’t be reputation without it, and there are times when I like the camp and spite. But it is consistently my least favorite moment of listening to that album, and carries on her questionable trend of lyrically infantilizing a black man.
After more listening, my favourite tracks are: the 1 cardigan the last great american dynasty exile mirrorball seven august illicit affairs betty peace
So after a week, I think this is a perfect album outside of maybe two tracks. I really don't care for "mad woman" and i'm not sure i needed "hoax" - "peace" is such a good fucking song and truly would have worked fine as a closer where when hoax comes in it just doesn't do much for me. far and away her best album and one of the best things i've heard in a while.
Yeah, I saw that. "The Folklore Album" is just as redundant and unnecessary as "Folklore Album" though. I'd prefer the merch to just say "Folklore." Is the word "Folklore" copyrighted or something? Or can it NOT be copyrighted, so they made it "Folklore Album" so they COULD copyright it?
They too called out the link between peace and the Bon Iver track 666. Either I'm a genius, or they are, or both!
wait... are you criticizing her possibly singing about Kanye on this song? You do remember everything HE has done to her, right? Singing negtively about him is not even remotely in the same ballpark, she is more than valid.
