Kinda makes sense. Retailers probably have to be the first priority because there's X amount each store needs to receive and shit, and they need to all be ready to be sold on the same day, etc.
You know I never cared for Ready For It when it was released but it's a great gym song. All the upbeat rep songs are
Yeah, I'm just of the mind that if you preorder from the artist directly, you should get it before anyone else. I wish there was more effort to make that happen, versus the reality where the preorder nets you no actual benefit beyond knowing that you're doing the thing that best supports the artist. It's especially galling in a case like this, where they've had my money for half a year.
Went to Target and they had none on the shelves. Had to wait for the electronics guy to get back from work and ask. He didn’t have a chance to put out new items yet. Thankfully they had a huge box full. Probably won’t open it.
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. But yes, everything you’ve said about pre-ordering directly from the artist are things I’ve thought about too. In this case, and most cases with vinyl, it’s an album that has been out for months so leaks aren’t a concern. Ship them out to the people who pre-ordered first. Who cares at that point if people receive it a week or two before the retail drop? The only thing I can think of is that shipping it the week of the retail drop is a calculated move to boost sales for that week because if they shipped them earlier it would go towards a different sales week. Between the vinyl and the first batch of Evermore signed copies only going on sale a couple weeks ago, I have to assume Taylor’s team is gunning for a return to the top of the charts this coming week, which would put her in sole position of #3 all time for weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200. Her social post today was also telling people to stream the album this week so a big jump is going to happen on basically every format.
Mine will be here tomorrow! Woo! @Craig Manning I haven’t received a new email with shipping info, but I looked at my original order receipt from December, clicked View Your Order, and then my tracking number was in there. Have you checked yours yet?
Yeah, you might be on to something here. I couldn’t find my email from December, just the one from a few months ago when they delayed it. But that didn’t have any links to view my order. I’ll check again.
Pretty wild considering it was Folklore that had eight different color variants. Perhaps one extra month of presales and new record player adopters during the 2020 holiday season played a part. On a related note, Evermore will be back to #2 on the charts this week per HDD. https://m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&...6-4-FORECAST:-A-RODRIGO-REPEAT-&-'MORE-TAYLOR
I did - that’s the retail variant I think opaque green is from her web store and target is red of course
I was expecting the opaque myself but got the transparent and am still happy. thanks for posting the photo. i was gonna do the same.
It’s kinda like Fearless and Speak Now. Similar overall sounds. One wins all the awards and gets a ton of critical praise whereas the second album is the one adored by fans.
it's very easily folklore as the better record for me, honestly isn't even close. Still love evermore.
