sure would be a shame for them to find out they're not going the day of when i'm there. (this maybe happened to my friend's ex boyfriend when he showed up for the coldplay/robyn concert and i was there to go with my friend who dumped him a few days before)
OK this should be much less controversial aside from one thing that will make people furious. The Archer Lover Miss Americana Paper Rings Cornelia Street Death By A Thousand Cuts False God Afterglow It's Nice To Have A Friend Daylight
that's the one. Solid song, but not the second coming of christ. Just the second coming of Getaway Car.
Getaway Car is certainly a favorite, but Cruel Summer is mostly a copy of it whereas the rest of the tracks on my cut are brand new ground for her and fit together oh so perfectly.
That one is better, but there are still at least three songs you cut that I’d be sad to lose. I’d rather have the full 18-song version!
This is the version of Lover I’ve been using since it came out: 1) I Forgot That You Existed 2) The Man 3) Miss Americana 4) Cruel Summer 5) Death By a Thousand Cuts 6) False God 7) The Archer 8) Cornelia Street 9) Afterglow 10) I Think He Knows 11) Paper Rings 12) Lover 13) Soon You’ll Get Better 14) It’s Nice to Have a Friend 15) Daylight
1. I Forgot That You Existed 2. Cruel Summer 3. Lover 4. The Archer 5. I Think He Knows 6. Paper Rings 7. Death By a Thousand Cuts 8. Soon You’ll Get Better 9. False God 10. It’s Nice to Have a Friend 11. Daylight Would be my trimmed down version of Lover. All killer, no filler.
If I were editing Lover, False God is the only song after Cornelia Street that's essentialMy perfect tracklist is same order, cut everything after CS and insert False God and MAYBE It's Nice to Have a Friend and Death By a Thousand Cuts somewhere. While I generally agree everything pre Folklore would've been better with cuts, only song I'm cutting from 1989 is I Know Places.
A little late here but with all the love in my heart, @irthesteve the next time we are able to be in a room together I’m slapping you with a dead fish
how dead are we talking? Are you inferring that you're going to cook me a seafood dinner? Count me in.
Also in terms of “The Man” I could never quite get on board because I felt pretty confident she had a better commentary to offer than that and then she proved me right with “mad woman”
The exact feeling I love all my friends to have $50 tier on Patreon gets you the livestream and Chorus username read out loud at the end
I did the album sorter thing by first going album by album and ranking the songs so that I would have a loose guide for album tiebreakers and whatnot. What I learned is that evermore is my third least favorite album by concentration of songs. And it’s not like it’s not a great album. Really in awe of how she can do this.
